Top Ten Tuesday- Beach Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is a really cool original feature/weekly meme created over at The Broke and The Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten List that bloggers join in on answering... and today (June 11th), I'm one of them :)

Today's Topic:

Top Ten Beach Reads

YAY BEACH!!! There is no better place to read than on the beach!  Here is me on the beach a few years ago reading a PLL book:

I cannot wait to get there this summer and dig my toes in!  But first I gotta find a few good beach books to take with me.  So I'll be browsing all of your lists looking for some.  Here are the books I've read in the past that would be great to read at the beach.  I tend to go for books with a mystery in them just because that's what feels right to me for the beach.  But I also like to read some romance too... nothing that makes me think too too hard!

1.  Hysteria by Megan Miranda
2.  The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
3. & 4.  Lying Game/ Pretty Little Liar books by Sara Shepard
5.  Rosebush by Michele Jaffe

6.  My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
7.  From What I Remember... by Stacey Kramer and Valerie Thomas
8.  Audrey Wait! by Robin Benway
9.  Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner- Yeah more about friendship than romance, but still it's a great beach book!
10.  Any Sarah Dessen

**So like I said I'm really excited to browse through your lists so that I can find my next beach book!

  1. These are some great picks Michelle! I really need to read some more books by Dessen, so it's great to know that they made it to your list! Also how could I forget What I Remember from my list? I adored that book!

    1. Unfortunately the show is WAY better than the books IMO. But they're still cool books... just not as cool as the show.

    2. What do you think of The Lying Game books vs tv show? I think they're both SO different! I'm obsessed with both in their own way. I love that they're different. Here's my list: http://unravelingbooks.blogspot.com/2013/06/top-ten-tuesday_11.html

    3. I totally LOVE the TV Show more than the books in both The Lying Game and Pretty Little Liars. I am OBSESSED with The Lying Game TV show and am getting pissed that they havent renewed it yet!!!

The Pretty Little Liars books are definitely addicting, but have gone on too long... also I am so used to the girls from the TV show that when I read in the book about Emily being a redhead w/ freckles, Hanna being a brunette, and Spencer being a blonde it freaks me out!

  13. Great list! I want to read the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer - I didn't realize it was a series until I saw people mentioning it in the comments. Interesting. I haven't decided if Pretty Little Liars is going to be for me or not - I see lots of people recommending it so I should give it a try.

  16. I'm so glad you included From What I Remember, one of my favorite books from last summer and a bit of an underdog. :) When it pops up on blogs, I remember how much I want to read it again.
