Top Ten Tuesday- Books That Make You Think

Top Ten Tuesday is a really cool original feature/weekly meme created over at The Broke and The Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten List that bloggers join in on answering... and today (Sept. 11th) I'm one of them :)

Top Ten Books That Make You Think (About The World, People, Life, etc.)

1.  The Fault in Our Stars By John Green- Holy hell I couldn't stop thinking for days and days and days about this book.  It was unhealthy really.  But I wasn't just thinking about the book I was pondering the meaning of life and stuff... deep. (I'm sure this is one everyone's list this week right?)

2.  One Moment By Kristina McBride- It made me think about how people see you after you die.

3.  Hold Still By Nina LaCour- Death, suicide, and moving forward... loved the message this book had.

4.  How to Save a Life By Sara Zarr- Death but also life and hard decisions.

5.  The Rules of Survival By Nancy Werlin- Sad stuff... goes on everyday. (or A Child Called It, I couldn't decide)

6.  The Pact By Jodi Picoult- Trying to understand why someone does something unexpected and forgiveness. (All her books are thinkers though).

7.  Please Ignore Vera Dietz- Heart hurting!!

8.  Speak By Laurie Halse Anderson- First YA book that really got me.

9.  The Five People You Meet in Heaven By Mitch Albom- It wasn't a book I was in love with, but it definitely is a thought provoker... fate, death, the meaning of life, that kind of stuff.

10.  Weird choice here but The Handmaids Tale By Margaret Atwood- First book that really made me think about how fragile society is.

So that's my list... what's yours??  It's a sad day, I'll be thinking about a lot today :(

  2. I've seen The Handmaid's Tale on a lot of TTT lists so far, so it's not that weird of a choice! It's making me want to head out to the library or bookstore right now to pick up a copy and read it!

  3. You have a great list :) I love The Rules of Survival it is a great book. I thought of it for my list but didn't put it down. Speak is also a really great one. I still haven't read TFIOS (*hangs head in shame*) and I have the signed pre-order copy. I guess I just haven't been in the mood to have my heart broken but I will be soon.

  4. The Pact was the first Jodi Picoult novel I had ever read and it killed me. What a story. Great list.

  5. The Pact is the only Jodi Picoult book that I've read but it hit me hard. It really is one of those stories that really makes you think.

  6. I'm scared to read my copy of The Fault in Our Stars because I tend to spill food and stuff on my books, and that one's autographed, haha. I should get over that, because everyone says it's amazing. I liked how The Five People You Meet in Heaven made me think, too. It made me actually think about what Heaven would be like. It was very interesting to me.
