Today's Topic:
Top Ten Most Memorable Secondary Characters
1. The Colonel- Looking for Alaska by John Green- Ugh all of John Green's characters are pretty much amazing... but I like the Colonel because he and Miles form this immediate friendship and he was also kind of an evil genius.
2. Anna & Michael- Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers- Anna is the ULITMATE mean girl... and Michael was so real to me.
3. Roxanne- Crash and Burn by Michael Hassan- Wow Roxanne was just wow! If you read this book, you will NOT forget Roxanne.
4. Trey- Crash by Lisa McMann- I loved both of Jules siblings, but Trey was like her partner in crime and he made me smile :)
5. Tim- My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick- Tim was Nan's twin and he was definitely the twin worth getting to know. He was troubled, but he had personality... where Nan was just blah!
6. Thayer- The Lying Game books by Sara Shepard- I love Thayer in the books (not the TV show)!! I love that he's there for Emma even though he thinks she's Sutton and she's broken his heart. I just wish she would trust him with the secret already since he's more than proven he's trustworthy!! (P.S.-I'm reading the last book now)
7. Isaac- The Fault in Our Stars by John Green- If you don't LOVE Isaac from TFIOS, then you don't have a heart. He's directly responsible for Hazel and Gus getting together... plus I love his witty comments and outlook on going blind.
8. Dylan- How to Save a Life by Sara Zarr- Ughh poor Dylan!! I liked this book, but seriously he was the ONLY like-able character in the whole book. All the main characters had SUPER big character flaws... and Jill treated him like total crap, so I wanted to hug him.
9. Cricket- Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins- I tried to keep main love interests off this list... but I couldn't help this one. I love Cricket... he made this whole book! And he's one of my fav. book-boyfriends... ever!
10. Luna Lovegood & Sirius Black- Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling- My 2 favorite HP characters!! Luna just rocks because she marches to her own drummer... and I totally loved her even more after the movies came out. Sirius is my all-time fav. I SIRIUSly couldn't have loved him more in these books...*tear*. He was a great father-figure, a great friend, and just freaking awesome.
So what Secondary Characters are you obsessed with?? Can't wait to see them all :)
LOVED Michael from Some Girls Are! I had Lola and the Boy Next Door on my list too but I featured her dads! I loved them! But Cricket <33
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that Roxanne is on your list! I don't know a lot of people who have read Crash & Burn and it's such a different book. I am so mad that I didn't even think to put Roxanne on my list. Great call!
ReplyDeleteYay someone else who read Crash and Burn :) I LOVED that book! One of my favs for 2013 for sure!
DeleteYes! Oh my goodness, Tim! I definitely loved him even if he wasn't the nicest character. Great list!
ReplyDeleteGood list, I love The Colonel, Isaac, Luna and Sirius as well.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about Tim! I was not very impressed with his antiques at the beginning but he's the kind of character that grows on you and he just felt so real. Great list!
ReplyDeleteHaha, nice Sirius pun! I love Luna and Sirius, especially Luna and her quirky magazines. I've been hearing a lot about The Fault in Our Stars, is it worth checking out?

My Top Ten
Ahh this makes me want to read Some Girls Are, My Life Next Door, How to Save a Life & Lola! Oh yes Luna & Sirius! Between the two I think I like Luna better. & I totally agree, I loved her even more after the movies came out :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list! Thanks for stopping by ours earlier! Have a great Tuesday :)
How could I forget about Luna?! One of the best characters JK Rowling created - I love how lonely and different she is.
ReplyDeleteI personally wouldn't call Cricket a secondary character...but I love him, so I'm willing to let you slide on that one, haha!
Thanks for stopping by my TTT!
Isaac is on my list too! I adore him. And Sirius is a stud!
ReplyDeleteSirius... he's so doggone cute. ;) Sadly Luna and Sirius are the only two I've read. I've got The Fault in Our Stars in my tbr pile though.

The Colonel!! I love him so much, and I can't believe I forgot to include him in my list! And then Isaac. LOVE HIM.
ReplyDeleteAlso Tim! He was a great character as well, and I definitely agree with you about Nan. Just what was wrong with her!?
Thumbs up for Tim!! Can you believe he is the only one on your list that I know?! I loved watching him go from zero to hero in My Life Next Door. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I really need to read Some Girls Are and Lola and the Boy Next Door (I just didn't LOVE Anna and the French Kiss and I don't know, I'll read Lola eventually, but...I don't know). I totally forgot about Tim in My Life Next Door, I did like him...I really need to go back and re-read that one (ha, like I have time for that!).
ReplyDeleteLOL yeah it's pretty tough making time to reread ANYTHING when you got a list of things you need to read for the first time a mile long.... and I didn't like Lola as much as Anna so IDK how you'll feel about it :(
DeleteFinally someone that included a character from Looking for Alaska! Great list :)
ReplyDeleteMy TTT
Some great choices you have on here!!! I included Isaac as well. I loved My Life Next Door as well. Now I am off to browse your blog....(because we seem to have so many of the same book in common) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLoved Isaac and Tim! I have Looking For Alaska and I can't wait to read it :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
Lots of great choices on your list! I had Michael from SGA on mine as well. And also added several of the characters from My Life Next Door (who I've been seeing around a lot this TTT). Others I haven't met you but I am looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT is here.
Tim, Isaac, LUNA (!!!), Sirius and Cricket - you can't go wrong with any of them because they are all fantastic. I love that Cricket rocks his own look the way Luna does, and I had no clue while reading My Life Next Door how much I would end up liking Tim (even though George made my list).
ReplyDeleteGreat choices all around. Thanks for stopping by my TTT earlier (and I love the polka dots).
