Top Ten Tuesday-- Graphic Novel Wishlist

Top Ten Tuesday is a really cool original feature/weekly meme created over at The Broke and The Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten List that bloggers join in on answering... and today (January 31st) I'm one of them :)
Today's Topic

Top Ten Books I Wish Would Be Made Into Graphic Novels

  • So the original topic for today was supposed to be favorite graphic novels or comics, but since I don't read near enough of those to make a list, I decided to think of books I wish would be made into graphic novels.  The better question may have been which books I DON'T want to be GNs because I could have made this a list of 30 easily.  I guess there are a lot of books that I wish I could put a visual to.  Anyway, here is the narrowed down list:

1.  Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by People- I think it would be much better suited in visual form (I mean, I guess it already IS since it's a play, but still would be fun as a GN too).

2.  The Women in the Walls by Amy Lukavics- Would love to see the creepiness!!

3.  The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater- Duh.  She's an ARTIST, so obviously this would be FABULOUS as a GN.

4.  Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger- How cool would it be to see this world come to life in pictures?

5.  Sloppy Firsts (Jessica Darling #1) by Megan McCafferty- Anything Jessica Darling is a YES for me, but I'd love to see what Marcus Flutie looks like.

6.  Fallout (Lois Lane #1) by Gwenda Bond- YES to high school Lois Lane  in a GN.

7.  This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers- I just wanted to put a Courtney Summers book on this list-- and also, ZOMBIES!!

8.  Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin- Remember this book?  Well, if you don't it's about an after-life world-- and I think it would make a fab graphic novel.

9.  Winger by Andrew Smith- Ryan Dean West drawn out??  YES!!!  Plus, I need to see the grocery store "consequence" scene.

10.  Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli- seriously, this needs to happen.

  1. FUN twist on today's topic, Michelle! I feel like Gail's books would be great graphic novels - even though I've not read them, they have that "look" about them. Also 'Ghost and Goth' is another series I cannot wait to read, and seems like it too would be a good transition. :)

  6. Such a good idea for this week's TTT. I loved the drawings in Winger, so to see an entire graphic novel of that would be awesome. As well as Stargirl and The Raven Boys!

  7. Nice twist on the topic, I'd like a graphic adaptation of a few books.... I'd love an adaptation of Daughter of Smoke and Bone especially (not on your list) and of course Harry Potter & The Cursed Child. I really should give some of the others on your list a try!
