Top Ten Tuesday-- Names From Sarah Dessen Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a really cool original feature/weekly meme now hosted over at That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week they post a new Top Ten List that bloggers join in on answering... and today (May 22nd) I'm one of them :)

Today's Topic

Top Ten Names From Sarah Dessen Books

  • I have always loved the names that Sarah Dessen uses in her books.  They are always unique and cool sounding-- for the girls and the guys.  I'm a big fan of them, and these are my faves:

1.  Macy Queen from The Truth About Forever- I really really love this book.  If you've never read Sarah Dessen, I say start HERE.  Macy is a cool name too!

2.  Emaline from The Moon and More- I grew up on a street called Evaline and this name reminds me of that.

3.  Hollis West from Along for the Ride- Hollis is Auden's older brother and I just LOVE this name for a dude.  I also kind of love the name Auden and it was really hard to leave it off the list!

4.  Colie Sparks from Keeping the Moon- Colie!!!  Such a cool name!!

5.  Ruby Cooper from Lock & Key- My dog's name is Ruby so....

6.  Remy Starr from This Lullaby- This is a rockstar name if I've ever heard one.

7.  Halley Martin from Someone Like You- Halley was named after the comet.  And if it's pronounced like it rhymes with Sally, then I super LOVE it.

8.  Macon Faulkner from Someone Like You- I definitely didn't love this love interest, but his name is so Southern and fun.

9.  Haven McPhail from That Summer- OMG this name is EVERYTHING.

10.  Sumner Lee from That Summer- I have never met/heard of a boy in real life named Sumner, but if I did I would give them a thumbs up on a cool name!!

Which names from books are you loving this week??  Which Sarah Dessen names are your faves?

  2. Gahhhh! I loved that you picked Dessen books. They are some of my faves, and I have read them all (she really needs to write a new one). YA names are often interesting, and I agree that Dessen keeps me on my toes with her name choices, but Abbi Glines definitely gives her a run for her money.

  11. I *still* haven't read a Sarah Dessen novel, but I would really like to!! Especially since I'm such a contemporary, summer-vibe kind of reader - and if there are any books that look to be EXACTLY this, it's Sarah's. :)

Summer and Halley both sound so pretty.
