Shayna and her two best friends have the abilities to manipulate and control the four elements, earth, air, water and fire. While learning to hone their growing powers, they discover a new and malicious presence in their sleepy beach town. My Review:
I really got sucked in by this book, which is weird because I'm more of a contemporary girl. The thing is, it flowed really good and it was based in reality, so I was into it. I thought the Elemental powers that the 3 teens possessed were pretty kick-ass. I especially liked that Shayna, who had the power of Earth, was the strongest since you don't really think of Earth as being a strong power. It was cool to see how she drew strength and peace from it. I also really liked all the detail that the author provided when it came to how these 3 do their rituals and other witchcraft-type things. It made me feel like I wanted to go outside and mix potions like I used to do when I was a kid :)
I am very curious to read the other books in the series because this one was left so open! And I have to say I hope Tracy is not in the other books, she kinda sucks at life! Jensen, who is the main romantic interest, definitely had potential to be my book boyfriend.... he sounded HOT!! But I really wanted MORE of him. I don't feel like I got to know him very well or felt the connection that Shayna felt there. To me he was just a pretty face.
PS- LOVE the cover (and I usually don't like covers where you can see the person's face, but this one is an exception!)
