New Books Out This Week 8/25

These are the new books I'm obsessing over this week:

By: Lauren Myracle
A YA-Contemporary about 2 people who are seemingly on different paths in life, but certain things change the summer after high school ends...

By: Caprice Crane
When Hailey finds out she's moving to Hollywood, she couldn't be happier for the fresh start because she's always been invisible.  Then she finds a notebook written by her older sister labeled "How to Be a Hater".  Maybe this book is just what she needs to finally become one of the cool kids.

By: Cat Patrick & Suzanne Young
Caroline is about to have her life split in 2.  Her choice to go to a party, not knowing that it's going to be her grandmother's last night, turns out to be one of those "what if" moments.  Now she's getting to see what happens if she would have stayed and what happens if she went.

By: Robyn Schneider
This YA Contemporary is about the fall of golden boy, Ezra.  An accident turns Ezra's life completely upside-down, from popularity and athletic scholarships to misfit-status.  It is at the misfit table where he meets new-girl Cassidy, who takes him by surprise.... but just because he's already been through one tragedy, that doesn't make him safe from more.

Two Boys Kissing
 By: David Levithan
Harry and Craig are trying to break the Guinness World Record for kissing (32 hours).  They're doing it publicly  in front of their high school.  Woven into this story is the story of the generation of gay men who lived and died through the AIDS crises.

To Be Perfectly Honest: A Novel Based on an Untrue Story
By: Sonya Sones
Colette, daughter of a Hollywood actress, is addicted to lying.  When her mother moves her to a small town for the summer, she's covinced it'll be the worst summer ever... until she meets Connor, hot guy on a bike.  Even though her new relationship is built on lies, she's really feeling it with Connor.... but he has secrets of his own, and Colette's about to be a victim in her own game.

Love in the Time of Global Warming
By: Francesca Lia Block
In a book that parallels The OdysseyLen is searching for her family and a safe place in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles.  Along the way she meets a variety of people and discovers things about herself.

Taste Test
By: Kelly Fiore
A YA Contemporary Mystery which takes place during a teen reality cooking competition.  Nora leaves her small-town life behind for the chance to be on a new reality show.  But with accidents happening on-set, Nora has to figure out who's behind these "real-life eliminations" before she's next.

The Dark Between
By: Sonia Gasier
A historical fiction based in early 1900's Cambridge, England where séances are all the rage.  The story follows 3 women attending Summerfield College when a dead body is found nearby.  They must figure out if this death is the work a an evil person or something from the spirit world.

Counting By 7s
