The Blogger Wall: What do you do when you hit a blogging slump?
So what do I do when I hit a blogging slump?? Well I don't post much for one thing. Usually my blogging slumps and reading slumps go hand in hand. I don't have posts back-logged, so if I'm not reading, I'm not posting reviews. Other than that, I've been lucky that I've been blogging for over a year and a half and haven't gotten burnt out on it at all really. Ok yes sometimes when it's 1 AM and I'm sleepy and I'm STILL working on a blog tour post that I promised would be up the next morning, I'm not a happy camper. My back is all stiff and my eyeballs feel like they're going to bleed. I just want to say hell with it... but something keeps me going. I like to keep my word... that's important to me, so I push through it.
I think I have a similar philosophy about my blog in general. I feel like it's a commitment that I've made to myself to keep doing it, so I do. And also I really really like doing it, so it's not a conflict at all. I've seen a lot of bloggers get into slumps (this summer especially)... most of them seem to try to change things up to give themselves a jolt. If I ever go through a serious blogging slump maybe that's what I'll do. Or maybe I'll just take a few weeks off. Nothing wrong with that!
So what do you think? Have you ever been in a serious blogging slump? Did you quit for a while or just work through it? I'd love to hear your experiences!
Link up if you want to post :)
Oh, you lucky duck! No blogging slump. Sigh. I hope you never experience one!
ReplyDeleteWhen I got pregnant last year I hit a MAJOR blogging slump, I felt horrible and by the time I got home from work I was exhausted. During that time I quit blogging for about 6 months, I started back during the 6 weeks I was on maternity leave. Hopefully, I won't go through another one because blogging is something I truly enjoy doing.
ReplyDeleteGreat topic!
