Top Ten Seven Things on my Bookish Bucket List
1. Moving to Wordpress or some other host.
-I'm already one step closer because I bought my domain name: http://www.pinkpolkadotbooks.com
-And I'm hopefully going to do this by the end of this year. It's just stressing me out to think about it. I hate change.
2. Reading 100+ books in a year.
-How do you guys read so much?? I always want to read more and I just cannot crack the 80-ish book per year mark.
3. Authors I want to meet
-Sarah Mlynowski, Sarah Ockler, Rainbow Rowell, John Green, Huntley Fitzpatrick, Katie McGarry, Courtney Summers, Jennifer Brown, Jay Asher, Laurie Halse Anderson, E. Lockhart, oh and J.K. Rowling if she has time LOL.
4. Build a kick-ass storage center for all my books.
-Yeah my books are a mess right now :(
5. BEA
-I am doing this one! I will be going to BEA this year and I'm SO excited!!
6. Write a Book
-Mad props to all you authors out there. I've wanted to write a book since forever, and it is SO freaking hard. Maybe someday I will get my stories typed up and not hate them :(
7. Instill the love of reading in my kids
-I only have the one kid right now and I've been reading to him since he was a few months old. I really think it has worked because he loves to get new books and he is reading SO good and he's only in Kindergarten. Hopefully if I have any more kids, I can keep it going!
Those are my bookish to-dos. What made your bucket list? Oh yeah and hopefully everything is working right on my blog. I just changed it over, so sorry if anything is out of whack.
I'm so glad about the last one on your list! As a teacher, one of my passions is instilling a love of reading in my students. I think it's so important!
ReplyDeleteI read over a hundred books a year - but I have a three hour commute each day on public transport. It's tedious but amazing. I can read most of a novel in a day just on my travel time.
ReplyDeleteDon't be afraid of moving the site. It'll all work out! I recently moved and am trying to work everything out.
Great job on your reading to your son. I read to my niece all the time. She's nearly two and everytime I go to her house she takes me by the hand, takes me to the bookshelf her books are stored at and points and jumps up and down until I get a book, put her on my lap and read it to her.
Have the best time at BEA! It looks amazing and I'd love to go and it's something I'd love to do before I die.

Love the last one. I'd be the happiest if my future-kids loved reading as much as I did, and I could make them(!) read all the books I loved as a kid and should have read but didn't discover in time!
ReplyDelete#5 oh I wish. #2 I wish too. Every year that is like my goal and then I only get to like 70 books or so. Sigh....

YES for 100+ books per year, though I have no idea how to manage that. I want to meet McGarry, JK and Huntley too!! <3 BEA! Yes! In the future when I have enough money and time to get to America :))

Dress Up That Cover #1 - If I Stay
Damn 7 is a really good one! Something I want to do too, but didn't think about putting on my list. I think we will see BEA on most people's list.. and I am uber jealous you are going this year! Have FUN!
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
ReplyDeleteI want to write a book too - but believe it or not - did not make it on my list. I needed a little more than ten spots for that.

Great list! I recently moved to Wordpress from Blogger. The switch is working out well so far!
ReplyDeleteLove your list! Keep reading to/with your kids :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat list! The last one is so important! Both of our kids love reading and I'm pretty sure it's because we read to them starting when they were babies and always had books around for them. And I'm so excited for BEA! I'm just doing the power reader day thing but I still can't wait! And so many great authors to meet! I would die if I ever met J.K. Rowling. Lol
ReplyDeleteGreat list. I want to eventually want to move to .com, I'm currently on wordpress. Keep reading to your children. I read to my class and they all love books :-)
ReplyDeleteI totally could have included the 'write a book' goal to my list as well - I have so many ideas written down but no time or energy to fully focus on them. I'm probably going to be unemployed during the summer, so maybe then....
ReplyDelete100 books in a year is on my list too. I was so proud of myself for reading 56 last year. How DO they do it? My goal this year is 50 new-to-me books. I hope to up that goal next year!
ReplyDeleteAnd why oh why did I forget to include write a book? That's definitely something I hope to accomplish one day!
Oh, wow...great list Michelle! I completely agree with everything you've said here! It would be awesome to meet some of my favorite authors or attend the BEA Conference, so those two are definitely on my bucket list as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! xD

These are fantastic!! I'm trying to read 100 books this year (though, hey, I'd be better on track if Pinterest didn't exist...) and I'd LOVE to go to something like BEA. They don't really have it in Australia, buuuut, one can always dream, right?! My TTT!
ReplyDeleteEncourage your kids to love reading is an awesome thing to have on this list!
ReplyDeleteMissie @ A Flurry of Ponderings
Spencer @ ToastedLime.com is amazing for helping move from anything to Wordpress! He's who I used and I recommend him to everyone.
ReplyDeleteYour list is awesome! Good luck with it!!!
I love how this is a Top 10 Tuesday! You may also want to link up to the original Bookish Bucket List, too!
I love your last goal. Instill the love of reading to the younger generations is so important. And getting harder to do. Have fun at BEA!
