Here's what books I see in my August future:
Yolo by Lauren Myracle
Through texts and messages, the mega-bestselling, beloved Internet Girls series followed the ups and downs of school for three very different, very close friends. Now it’s freshman year of college for the winsome threesome, and *everything* is different. For one, the best friends are facing their first semester apart. Way, way apart. Maddie’s in California, Zoe’s in Ohio, and Angela’s back in Georgia. And it’s not just the girls who are separated. Zoe’s worried that Doug wants to break up now that they’re at different schools, and Maddie’s boyfriend, Ian, is on the other side of the country. In the face of change and diverging paths, Maddie’s got a plan to keep the friends close, and it involves embracing the present, making memories, and . . . roller derby! Using of-the-moment technology, Lauren Myracle brings her groundbreaking series into the brave new virtual world of texting and tweets.
- So I read the other Internet Girls books- ttyl, ttfn, l8r g8r. They were cute and fun and young... and guilty pleasures for me. The last book came out 7 YEARS AGO!! I'm really curious to see what made Ms. Myracle write another book after so long! And I'm also curious about seeing the winsome threesome in college.

Blood of My Blood (Jasper Dent #3) by Barry Lyga
Jazz Dent has been shot and left to die in New York City. His girlfriend Connie is in the clutches of Jazz's serial killer father, Billy. And his best friend Howie is bleeding to death on the floor of Jazz's own home in tiny Lobo's Nod. Somehow, these three must rise above the horrors their lives have become and find a way to come together in pursuit of Billy. But then Jazz crosses a line he's never crossed before, and soon the entire country is wondering: "Like father, like son?" Who is the true monster?
The chase is on, and beyond Billy there lurks something much, much worse. Prepare to meet...the Crow King.
- I just got approved to read this book TODAY!! And even though it doesn't come out until September, I really can't wait to read it! I loved I Hunt Killers, and I loved Game (the 2nd book) even more! Game ended on 2 (and maybe even 3) cliffhangers... and I MUST know what's going to happen to Jazz, Connie, Howie, Dear Old Dad, the aunt, and Grandma Dent!!

Random by Tom Leveen
Late at night Tori receives a random phone call. It's a wrong number. But the caller seems to want to talk, so she stays on the line.
He asks for a single thing—one reason not to kill himself.
The request plunges her into confusion. Because if this random caller actually does what he plans, he'll be the second person connected to Tori to take his own life. And the first just might land her in jail. After her Facebook page became Exhibit A in a tragic national news story about cyberbullying, Tori can't help but suspect the caller is a fraud. But what if he’s not? Her words alone may hold the power of life or death.
With the clock ticking, Tori has little time to save a stranger—and maybe redeem herself—leading to a startling conclusion that changes everything…

Ghosting by Edith Pattou
On a hot summer night in a Midwestern town, a high school teenage prank goes horrifically awry. Alcohol, guns, and a dare. Within minutes, as events collide, innocents becomes victims—with tragic outcomes altering lives forever, a grisly and unfortunate scenario all too familiar from current real-life headlines. But victims can also become survivors, and as we come to know each character through his/her own distinctive voice and their interactions with one another, we see how, despite pain and guilt, they can reach out to one another, find a new equilibrium, and survive.
Told through multiple points of view in naturalistic free verse and stream of consciousness, this is an unforgettable, haunting tale.

- This was a random pick for me. I saw that awesome title, read the blurb, and felt like it was a ME book. I love books with multiple POVs. Especially if I'm expecting it right off the bat. Also I like verse books and want to try more of them out.

Starry Night by Isabel Gillies
Sometimes one night can change everything. On this particular night, Wren and her three best friends are attending a black-tie party at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to celebrate the opening of a major exhibit curated by her father. An enormous wind blasts through the city, making everyone feel that something unexpected and perhaps wonderful will happen. And for Wren, that something wonderful is Nolan. With his root-beer-brown Michelangelo eyes, Nolan changes the way Wren’s heart beats. In Isabel Gillies's Starry Night, suddenly everything is different. Nothing makes sense except for this boy. What happens to your life when everything changes, even your heart? How much do you give up? How much do you keep?
- The cover is BEAUTIFUL, IMO. I've been wanting to read a sweet, cute romance book that isn't annoying or icky and I'm hoping this one is it (sort of like The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight or My Life Next Door). Could this be a new YA Romance Favorite??? I hope!!!
