Top Ten Tuesday- My Faves of 2015 so far...

Top Ten Tuesday is a really cool original feature/weekly meme created over at The Broke and The Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten List that bloggers join in on answering... and today (June 30th) I'm one of them :)

Today's Topic

Top Ten Books I've Read So Far In 2015

I'm sad for myself.  I've only read 21 books this year so far.  Sigh..... This is going to be a hard list to make because it will be HALF of what I've read.  I'm pathetic.  The good news is, I'm staying home for the rest of the summer, so I should be able to kick ass at reading for at least a few months!!  I hope.

1.  The Hunger Games!!! by Suzanne Collins- I can't believe I waited until 2015 to read this trilogy!!  I liked the first book the best... although Catching Fire was a close 2nd.  But Rue :(
2.  Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn- I read all 3 of her books this year (a binge author reading session), and this one was my favorite.  Gillian Flynn has a really fucked up mind to come up with this shit though!!
3.  Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver- I loved this book so hard!!  I am now the biggest Lauren Oliver fan.  So mad at myself for waiting so long to get to this!
4.  Kissing Ted Callahan (and Other Guys) by Amy Spalding- Adorable, cute, funny, awesome.  I loved Riley and found a new book BFF.
5.  Fairest (The Lunar Chronicles #3.5) by Marissa Meyer- Supposedly a novella, but it's really a full-lengther to me.  I could have read about Levana's backstory forever.
6.  Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews- Holy LOL.  I laughed in public way too much reading this awesome book.  And plus- PITTSBURGH!!

7.  The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle #1) by Maggie Stiefvater- Another series that I waited too long to read (or did I??  I mean now I don't have to wait so long for The Raven King!!).  I loved the magic in this book.  And Adam!  I know no one likes Adam, but I DO!!
8.  The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycles #2) by Maggie Stiefvater- I didn't like this AS much as the first book.  Another unpopular opinion I would imagine.  It was a whirlwind of assassins, Mitsubishis, and Adam being bitchy.  But I still loved.
9.  I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson- This. Book.  It rocked my YA loving world.  I'll never look at writing the same way again.
10.  The Walls Around Us by Nova Ren Suma- Really great writing.  Super interesting.  Definitely want to read more by her.

So *luckily* I read some pretty fabulous books this year.  What have been your faves so far??  What books have I been missing out on?

  3. So many of these books are on my TBR pile. Love that you have such a diverse group of books. My Top Ten Tuesday includes a lot of older titles but I'm using this year to get caught up.

  5. Michelle I am always glad I follow you because we have similar tastes in books :) and I love it. I loved ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL (the movie was also great if you haven't seen it) and I'LL GIVE YOU THE SUN…what beautiful language she uses… BEFORE I FALL is one of my favorite books EVER EVER EVER (I've read it like 50x!!!!) and KISSING TED CALLAHAN was just a fun goofy lovely little book. I want a sequel ;-)

  6. I can't wait to read I'll Give You the Sun. I wasn't wowed by the Raven Boys, but maybe I need to have another go. I loved Maggie Stiefvater's Lament and Ballard. These are the best books she's written so far!

  9. Great list!! I've read the first three books in the Raven Cycle series and really enjoyed them. Before I Fall is on my TBR list still. I've read just about everything else Oliver has written, so I really need to get to that one. I am playing catch up in a lot of older series as well, so I totally understand how you just now read The Hunger Games. I read that series a while ago, bot I'm just starting Throne of Glass, I just finished the Vampire Academy series, and I still need to read the Bloodlines and Infernal Devices series. It seems like it never ends.

  10. Loved the Raven Cycle series and so cool that you got to read them all in one full swoop. I try to do that too, makes it easier on the wait. Course, I'm still waiting on The Raven King! Great list. Brenda @ Log Cabin Library

Your list is filled with books I am really excited to read, so I am happy to here you enjoyed them all.I really need to hurry up and get to Me Earl and the Dying Girl, I have heard great things and I want to read the book before I watch the movie. I technically read it last year, but there was no way I wasn't going to include it. Here's my TTT.

  13. I'm surprised you lasted this long waiting to read Hunger Games! And Before I Fall is one of the most gorgeous, heartbreaking books I've read. Her Delirium series was hit or miss with me, but Before I Fall is definitely my favourite from Lauren Oliver so far. And I've been waiting AGES to check out Fairest from the library! I finally read The Lunar Chronicles (well everything up til Fairest anyway) and can't believe I took so long to read them! Now I need that last book SO BADLY!

And thank you!! When I read The Raven Boys I was like..but..but...why does everyone hate Adam?? And I actually liked it more than The Dream Thieves too! I mean not by a whole lot because both are exquisite, but still. I felt like a..well I suppose more of a grey sheep than a black sheep, but you know what I mean.

  17. I'm so excited to see that Fairest was one of your favorites! I've read the whole Lunar Chronicles series so far, but have been on the fence about Fairest. I think I'll definitely have to read it, though :) Me, Earl, & the Dying Girl sounds fantastic, too. I definitely want to read it with the movie having recently released. Great picks!

  18. Ahh, you have read great books this year! I really liked The Hunger Games. The Lunar Chronicles has become one of my favorites, though I haven't gotten to Fairest yet. (It's sitting on my bookshelf, though!) Jandy Nelson, Maggie Stiefvater, and Lauren Oliver are also fantastic authors and I'm glad you liked their books!
