New YA Releases for the Week of 10/3

These are the books I'm obsessing over this week:

By: Rainbow Rowell
The fantasy characters we heard about in Fangirl (Simon and Baz), get their own book.

By: Mindy McGinnis
A historical fiction thriller set in an insane asylum and involves investigating a serial killer.

By: Sarah J. Schmitt
When a girl is accidentally collected by the Grim Reaper before her time, she's given the option to relive 3 life moments and show that her life is one worth saving.

By: Ann Jacobus
A girl is sent to a Paris boarding school to repeat her senior year.  There, she decides to try and get on the right track, but the emergence of 2 guys in her life puts her on a different path.

By: Natalie D. Richards
When Emmie's best friend's father is violently attacked, all suspicion goes to her long-time crush, Deacon (the best friend's brother).

By: Emiko Jean
Alice sits in a mental ward stewing about the fire that killed her boyfriend Jason... a fire her twin sister set.  Then she meets Chase, a boy that agrees to help her seek vengeance and prove who is responsible for Jason's death.

By: Patrick Ness
You know the The Chosen Ones in all those adventure books?  The ones that find out they have secret powers, fall in love with a vampire, and save the world from the evil government?  This book is NOT about them.  It's about the kids in the background, who don't have special names or talents... just real problems.

By: Cammie McGovern
When Lucas and Emily fail to help a girl with disabilities who is being attacked, they must do community service at a center for people with disabilities.

By: Jen Larsen
Ashely has always been pressured by her grandmother to lose weight, but Ashley doesn't pay much attention... she's comfortable in her body.  Then for her birthday, grandma says she'll pay for her to go to Harvard if she undergoes weight-loss surgery.... what should she do?

By: E.K. Johnston
A retelling of One Thousand and One Nights.

By: Dawn Klehr
Becca and Johnny team up to prove a car accident that kills their loved ones wasn't an accident at all.

By: S.A. Bodeen
The YA version of Misery.  A bestselling teenage author is kidnapped by a mother-daughter duo.

By: Christina Lauren
When Delilah returns from boarding school, she finds her childhood crush, Gavin, as irresistible as ever.  But Gavin's house seems to disagree with her feelings...

By: Gary D. Schmidt
The story of a 13 year-old father who is in the foster system.

(Twilight #5, tenth anniversary edition)
Edition By: Stephanie Meyer

By: J.K. Rowling & Jim Kay (Illustrator)
The first Harry Potter book with over 100 illustrations.

Other Books Coming Out This Week:

This is a lot of books!!  I am so excited to see the Harry Potter Illustrated Edition in person.  I got a preview of it from Scholastic, but I want to see the real deal.  I'm also super pumped to read Carry On (and to meet Rainbow at a signing I'm going to), A Madness So Discreet, It's a Wonderful Death, Romancing the Dark in the City of Light, and We'll Never Be Apart.  I read My Secret to Tell and thought it was okay.  It didn't blow me away, but it was good-ish.
