Top Ten Book I've Read Based On Recommendation
- I need recommendations because I can be a very non-adventurous reader. If it weren't for people in my book club or all of you awesome bloggers & blog readers, I would never have read some of my very favorite books. So let's keep the recs coming!!
1. Wrecked by Maria Pardian
- Rec'd to me by Andi. She gets me.
- I've been on an epic search for YA Mysteries and many people told me to try this. I'm glad they did, I LOVED it.
- Another Andi rec. Another one that is totally a "me" book.
- Rachel rec'd this for me during my psychological thriller hunt.
- My book club forced me to read this.
- SO many people recommended this to me and I didn't believe them... but they were SO right.
- Another book club rec.
- Oh gosh, who didn't recommend this to me??
- My cousin recommended this series to me before the TV show started... and I became obsessed!! Until book 9 or 10 and then I got bored.
- Some girls at work told me to try it, and OMGGGGGGGGG. My life was taken over by this mindfuckful book.
SHOUTOUT to Cassi for also recommending awesome books to me. She's pretty good at knowing what I'll like :)
What books did you read because people made you??
I really need to read Firsts. I've had it on my wish list for a long time. With Malice sounds great too.
ReplyDeleteI had Cinder and Gone Girl on my list too!! I read With Malice because of bloggers too. Great list :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny because I just read descriptions sometimes and immediately know it will be a book for you. I blame our love of Tease for letting me know this. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love that you know that!! We were such black sheep on Tease and I don't even care.... love that book!!
DeleteI've only read Cinder and Gone Girl from your list, but everyone and their mom has told me to read The Raven Boys so maybe I'll do that eventually. XD
ReplyDeleteHere are my Top Ten!
With Malice and The Raven Boys are both on my TBR because of recs or general hype from bookish people on the internet. I need to get around to them soon.
ReplyDeleteI have Gone Girl on my list and am actually looking forward to some mindfuckery. Ha!
ReplyDeleteThe only book from your list that I've read is If I Stay and I enjoyed that one. Going to have to add the rest of the books to my buy list.
Ooo so many good ones! With Malice, The Raven Boys, Firsts, Cinder, Gone GIrl, and Etiquette & Espionage are all amazing! I love when I get book recommendations that end up helping me find some new favorites. :)
ReplyDeleteI have Wrecked to read either this week or the next! I'm very excited to start it. With Malice was a good read. I enjoyed it all except the ending.
ReplyDeleteGenesis @ Latte Nights Reviews
I agree, I would have missed out on a lot of good books without all the book blogger recommendations. I am going to read Gone Girl as I've heard it's so twisty. And I had no idea there were that many PLL books!
ReplyDeleteWith Malice looks good too.
OMG there are like 18 PLL books or something insane like that!! It gets SUPER ridiculous after a while, but still a total guilty pleasure.
DeleteWrecked sounds like a good one! Will have to pick a copy ASAP! Great Top Ten :D My Top Ten Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read Firsts! It looks SO intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to trying With Malice! :)
ReplyDeleteCheck out my TTT.
Gone Girl is a book I picked up on recommendation as well. And I simply love The Raven Cycles series and the Lunar Chronicles. Great list!
ReplyDeleteYou have a good book club! I love Gail Carriger books and The Raven Boys of course. I didn't think Cinder would be for me either but that series is so awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love love love the Cinder books, they are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteNereyda│ Nick & Nereyda’s Infinite Booklist
If I Stay was, surprisingly, better than I gave it credit for. SUPER curious for Gail's steampunk series and someday I AM reading Cinder. Thanks so much for visiting Findign Wonderland, Michelle.
ReplyDeleteThe whole internet also recommended The Raven Cycle and Cinder to me too! I loved TRC, but Cinder just felt okay for me, which is a shame really. I would still continue with the series though!
ReplyDeleteTasya // The Literary Huntress
lol love your description of Gone Girl. That is definitely how my mind felt after finishing it!
