New Books Out This Week 10/15

These are the new books I'm obsessing over this week:

By: Carrie Arcos
Rachel goes searching for her missing drug-addicted brother.  She takes along her brother's best friend (Tyler) and along the way is forced to deal with her own issues and the possibility that she might have feelings for Tyler.  I think it sounds amazing!!  Totally my kind of book!

A story about sisters that I can't wait to read!!  Amelia is always covering and looking out for her younger sister Charly, and she doesn't mind most of the time.  But one big incident changes that and Amelia has had enough.  Only Charly is hiding a big secret, and that secret might just be too big for their relationship to handle.  P.S.- I think I'm loving the pink cover.  Or wait maybe it's a little too Pepto Bismol for me...hmm can't decide.

Another story about sisters this week!!  Not a big synopsis on this one, but apparently it includes: "nail-biting drama, breathless romance, and gothic mystery".  I'm down for that :)

By: Various Authors
Dark retellings of classic nursery rhymes.  Loving this for a Halloween read!

The Elementals
By: Francesca Lia Block
Yay a book about a girl starting college!!  This age group is not represented enough IMO.  Ariel has a lot going on.  Her mom has cancer, she's trying to settle in at college, and her best friend, Jeni, is missing.  From there it seems like it's going to take a paranormal turn.

 Beta
By Rachel Cohn
Another contemp author hopped on the dystopian bandwagon :(  But anyhow it sounds cool.  It's about a teenage clone who is created to serve inhabitants of an island paradise.  Not only does she start noticing the strange feelings of the residents she serves, but she starts feeling things too, which could be dangerous.  Warning: This is also a series.

Break My Heart 1,000 Times
By: Daniel Waters
The author of Generation Dead!  In a world where ghosts are visible to the living, Veronica and Kirk notice that the ghosts have been gaining power and try to figure out why.  In the process they learn there is a teacher who is plotting to kill Veronica in order to bring back his dead daughter.  Sounds creeepy!  I like it!

Other Books Out This Week:

The Shadow Society By: Marie Rutkoski- Urban Fantasy/Paranormal
Ashen Winter By: Mike Mullin- Sequel to Ashfall... Aftermath of Yellowstone Supervolcano eruption
Crewel By: Gennifer Albin- Dystopian series about a girl who can spin/weave time
Starstruck- Lauren Conrad- Book 2 in The Fame Game series

So what's catching your eye??
