New Books Out This Week 1/27

These are the new books I'm obsessing over this week:

Blaze

By: Laurie Boyle Crompton

 I am SO excited for this book.  It's about a comic book girl who gets dumped and writes a comic featuring her ex as the villain.  He retaliates by sending out a "sext" that features her for the world to see.

The Madman's Daughter

By: Megan Shepherd

I don't really read historical fiction, but this one sounds intriguing.  It's about a girl who travels to a remote island to see if her father is really performing the gruesome experiments he was accused of... and the truth is even scarier than expected.

 Nobody But Us

By: Kristin Halbrook

Described as "Bonnie and Clyde meets If I Stay by Gayle Forman"  It's about Zoe and Will who are in love and on the run.  I thought I would totally be dying for this book to come out, but I've heard a lot of mixed reviews.  I think the Bonnie and Clyde description is getting people's hopes up too much.

What the Spell

By: Brittany Geragotelis

I do not usually read books about witches, but this one I am!  I think it sounds adorable.  Brooklyn gets her powers on her 16th birthday, which she uses to get a makeover and get the attention of the popular crowd and a boy.

Hooked

By: Liz Fichera

When a Native American girl named Fred joins the guys high-school golf team, she's not exactly taken in with open arms.  She took Seth's spot and his best friend Ryan knows he's gotta be loyal... but then he finds himself feeling drawn to Fred in a way he never expected.  I'm reading this now and I'm really starting to like YA that includes sports!

 The Voice

By: Jennifer Anne Davis

Audrey isn't sure what the voice she heard while she was kidnapped and assaulted was, but now that she's safe she feels like she needs to get away from it all.  She moves in with her aunt under a new identity and finds comfort in the twin guys next door.

The Color of Silence

By: Liane Shaw

A girl who was involved in an accident that left her best friend dead.  Now during her community service she meets a disabled girl that is unable to communicate & she feels like they can help each other overcome their obstacles.

 

Undone

By: Cat Clarke

Jem (LOVE that name) is in love with her gay best friend.  When he is outed online and kills himself, she knows she has to find out what happened... and make whoever did it pay.

 

Don't Hate the Player... Hate the Game

By: Krista Ashe

When Noah's "notorious player" best friend Jake dies suddenly he finds himself dealing with not only grief, but a quest to find the mystery girl Jake apparently bought an engagement ring for.
