New Books Out This Week 2/24

These are the new books I'm obsessing over this week:

By: Robin Benway
The daughter of spies gets her first solo assignment and she has to infiltrate a place she's never had to go before... high school!  So excited that Robin Benway has a new book out!!!  Here's a review of the book (by Alice in Readerland) that I loved!  But I must say I don't like the cover of this one, the girls knees look weird or something... the original cover was fab, they should've kept it.

By: Miranda Kenneally
Companion to Catching Jordan and Stealing Parker.  It's about a Kate, a good girl with a secret, who is being a camp counselor for the summer.  Matt, her first kiss, also happens to be a counselor too and he's changed from geek to hot!   Here's an excerpt.

By: Claire LaZebnik
This sounds cute!!  Franny is working as a costume designer for the Mansfield Summer Theater program where Alex (her crush) is attending.  Of course Alex is more interested in the lead female than his seamstress.  And then there's Harry, Franny doesn't mind flirting with Harry...until their relationship becomes more complicated.  "In this charming tale of mixed messages and romantic near-misses, one thing is clear: Flirting might be more trouble than Franny ever expected." ~Goodreads

By: Ashley Little
A story about a girl dealing with the death of her younger twin sisters, watching her parents self-destruct, and figuring out how to manage her life... oh yeah and her hair is falling out.

By: Elizabeth Eullberg
I love a book with the word revenge in the title but I'm not going to lie, I hated The Lonely Hearts Club.  Lexi is a girl with an awesome personality, everyone loves her... just not like that.  She's not the girl who turns heads and gets the guy.  Her little sister is one of those pageant girls from Toddlers & Tiara's and Lexi can't stand it.  But now she's going to play the game and show everyone she can be both, beautiful & personalitylicious (yes I made that word up).

By: Anne Cassidy
Book #2 in this YA Mystery Series has Rose and Joshua continuing to try to hold out hope that their missing parents are alive.  The police have told them they are dead, but they are conducting their own investigation, starting with figuring out what the cryptic notebooks mean.  When Rose gets a message from her ex-BF Rachel and then Rachel turns up dead, it makes them wonder if this is part of the puzzle.

By: Cal Armstrong
a 17-year-old awakes in Penn Station with no memory of who he is.  All he has is a copy of Walden by Henry David Thoreau, so he becomes Henry David aka Hank.  With nowhere to go he heads to Walden Pond in Concord, MA.  Meanwhile, he's beginning to piece together his life and what exactly he's running from.

By: Caela Carter
A teen pregnancy book about Evelyn who is ditched by her un-boyfriend and left to figure out how to deal with IT (her unborn child).

By: Rainbow Rowell
"Set over the course of one school year in 1986, ELEANOR AND PARK is the story of two star-crossed misfits – smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. When Eleanor meets Park, you’ll remember your own first love – and just how hard it pulled you under" ~Goodreads description.  Holy wow I want to read this!!

Geek Girl
By: Holly Smale
A fish out of water story about geeky Harriet being recruited by a model agent into the world of high fashion modeling.  I love the cover, it's adorable!

A few Adult Titles that fit in:
The Storyteller
By: Jodi Picoult
I love Jodi Picoult's books.  They're all bound to contain some sort of moral dilemma and/or a court case.  Her books are definitely good cross-overs from YA.  This one is about Nazi's and tough choices.
Star Crossed
By: Jennifer Echols
I included this because Jennifer Echols writes a ton of YA, so this would probably also be a good cross-over book.  It's about a PR girl who has to tame a wild singer and rehab her career.

Other books out this week:

  • Fragments By: Dan Wells- Book 2 in the Partials series.
  • Dualed By: Elsie Chapman- Book 1 of a new Dystopian series about battling twin alternates.
  • Scandal (The Ivy#4) By: Lauren Kunze & Rina Onur- Book 4 of The Ivy series.  Callie has to prove she's not the author of The Ivy Insider.
  • Pulse By: Patrick Carman- LOVE this cover!!  Book 1 of a new fantasy adventure trilogy.
  • Homo By: Michael Harris- When a boy is outed to his school, he feels isolated and alone... until he meets Riley online.  It isn't until after a sexual encounter that he learns Riley is HIV Positive.
  • The Summer Prince By: Alaya Dawn Johnson- A Sci-Fi Dystopian with a complicated description!
  • Slide (paperback) By: Jill Hathaway- The paperback release of this paranormal series about a girl who "slides" into other people's lives while she's asleep.  PS- the new cover is weird!
  • The Goddess Inheritance (Goddess Test #3) By: Aimee Carter- Sorry it's not pictured... the finale in the Goddess Test series
  • The Madness Underneath By: Maureen Johnson- Also not pictured... Follow-up to The Name of the Star.
So which books are going on your TBR??  I know I'm loving Eleanor & Park, Being Henry David, and Also Known As!

Also don't forget you can *win* Also Known As (and other New Releases) in my February New Release Giveaway which ends on Thursday!

  1. Thanks so much for mentioning my review! :) I agree, I don't like the new cover; I really liked how the old one showed all of her different disguises. I hated The Lonely Hearts Club too. I thought Revenge of the Girl with the Great Personality was better, but maybe that author just isn't the author for me. I'm really excited to read Elanor & Park! :) Happy reading!
