Top Ten Tuesday-- Books I Read Super Fast

Top Ten Tuesday is a really cool original feature/weekly meme created over at The Broke and The Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten List that bloggers join in on answering... and today (March 21th) I'm one of them :)

Today's Topic

Top Ten Books I Read Super Fast

  • I'm not a very fast reader... but something about these books turned me into one!!  Most of them I read in a single sitting.   A few of them took me 2 evenings.  They're not all favorites though.  Some were just easy to read!

1.  One Moment by Kristina McBride- This book was ADDICTING!!  I HAD TO KNOW what the deal with Joey was.  I highly recommend it!

2.  Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers- I read all of Courtney's books fast because I'm her #1 fan.  But this one I stayed up all night reading.... and basically died the next day.  Totally worth it.

3.  Party by Tom Leveen- This author is so underrated.  This was the first book I read by him and I flew through it.  It's short, narrated by multiple people, and takes place over one night-- which are all things I love in books.

4.  Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling- I didn't expect to love this when I bought it on a whim at Wal-Mart.  But I stayed up all night reading it and found myself back at Wal-Mart at 3AM buying HP and the Chamber of Secrets.

5.  Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay- I didn't love this, but it was a super easy read because it follows the TV series (or I guess the TV series follows the book) VERY closely.  There really aren't any additional details in the book-- it was almost like reading one of those novelizations.

6.  Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell- This book HURT!!  I was up all night reading and crying and it's a pretty long book, but I couldn't stop reading it.

7.  Torn Away by Jennifer Brown- Ughh, this was another sobfest that I read in a single night.

8.  The Way I Used to Be by Amber Smith- This book was SO powerful that I thought about it the every single time I wasn't reading it.

9.  The Light Fantastic by Sarah Combs- I read this at the beach, which probably contributed to my fast reading-- but it was really, really good.

10.  13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher- I enjoyed that this book tried to do something different and it is a short book.  PS-- YAY for the Netflix show coming soon!!

What books made your list this week?

  1. I had a very similar HP experience. I read them all as they came out when I was younger but then decided to reread them in like 2014. They were available in Amazon Prime to borrow, so I was going to read one book a month (I owned the books but prefer reading ebooks and didn't feel like digging out the hardcovers), but then I got completely sucked in and couldn't wait and just ended up reading all seven books in nine days lol.

  7. I loved Fangirl. I've read a couple of Jennifer Brown's books, but this one is still on my TBR list. I'm happy to see you must have enjoyed this one since you finished it so quickly.

  8. Courtney Summers books always go fast for me too! I've been holding off on All the Rage because I don't want to speed through it and then not have anything for a while.

  9. I wasn't a fan of the Dexter book either- it's one of the few times that I think the show is much better than the book!

  10. I almost put Fangirl on my list today but didn't want to go Rowell crazy, because I already have Carry On on my list. lol! The only other one on your list that I've read is Harry Potter. I love that series so much. I've read through them a couple times now. lol! Great list, I will have to check out some of the others you listed! Hope you have a great week!

  11. Both of my kids loved Fangirl! Mom is the only one who hasn't managed to read it yet. Huh. Yes to Harry Potter every time, too! I listened to the audiobook of Darkly Dreaming Dexter and it was quite amusing since it's narrated by the author.

  16. Totally agree re: Fangirl! It's been so long since I read HP but I want to re-read the whole series this year and I hope they are as fast as I remember! Great list!

  17. Despite hearing good things about Rainbow's books, I've never read one. Although I did read her novella in the Christmas collection that released two or three years ago. I've not been interested in '13 Reasons' but with the new series, my interest has been piqued! Perhaps, at some point, I'll read it. :D

Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland, Michelle.

  18. OOOOh, I still need to read Party after I saw you reccing it previously. I'm still getting into the idea of multi-POV books, but YES to Courtney Summers. I read All The Rage and have been in love with her work ever since. Definitely checking out Some Girls Are!
