Top Ten Tuesday-- Books I Don't Remember

Top Ten Tuesday is a really cool original feature/weekly meme now hosted over at That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week they post a new Top Ten List that bloggers join in on answering... and today (January 23rd) I'm one of them :)

Today's Topic

Books I Really Liked But Can't Remember Anything/Much About Them

  • When you read a lot of books, sometimes it gets hard to remember the ones you read a few years (or months) ago.  Some of these were absolute FAVORITES and I'm kind of ashamed in not remembering details... but I guess that just mean I need to start rereading.

1.  Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard- I 100% get the show and the books confused in my head (they really are very different).
2.  Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A.S. King- I LOVE A.S. King, and this was one of my faves of hers... but I read it a LONG time ago and can't remember many of the details.
3.  Story of a Girl by Sara Zarr- I LOVED this book.  This book felt like ME-- but just because I remember a feeling, doesn't mean I remember the plot :(
4.  Sarah Dessen books- These 2 are just examples of 2 of my fave Sarah Dessens that I remember very little about.  I definitely need a Sarah Dessen reread.

5.  The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin- Oh man, I KNOW the writing was addicting in this book, but asides from Noah and Mara being instalove, I don't remember a lot of it.
6.  Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry- This was my FAVE book 6 years ago.  And now?????  Well, I know the main characters were totally damaged, but other than that??? Nothing.
7.  Getting Revenge on Lauren Wood by Eileen Cook- This was such a fun book to read and really got me loving Eileen Cook.  I got to refresh my memory on it soon.
8.  The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson- I remember Joe Fontaine because 💜💜, but I read this a LONG time ago so the rest of it is fuzzy.
9.  We Were Liars by E. Lockhart- I remember the big "twist", but not much else.
10.  Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson- Literally remember nothing.  Laurie is a fave author of mine, but this one escapes me.

Which books are you having a memory lapse over??

  1. I know I've read We Were Liars and I flew through it in a day, but I remember basically nothing about it!

  2. Never read We Were Liars but I remember everyone talking about a big twist, maybe I should check it out.

  3. Oh Pushing the Limits should have made my list! I know I liked it but have no idea anything else!

  4. That cover of Getting Revenge on Lauren Wood might be one of my favorites ever. I should read that one! And same here with We Were Liars.

I've never read Pretty Little Liars but I have seen parts of the show.

  5. Great list! I haven't read any A. S. King but I've heard so many good things about her work that I must check her out at some point.

  6. I read 6 of these. I just adore Dessen, and I wish Jandy Nelson would write another book already. I need more of her amazing and beautiful stories. I love the Pushing the Limits books too. For all of these, I could not tell you every detail, but I could definitely tell you what I liked about the book.

  8. I am drawing a blank when it comes to Lock & Key. I'm fairly certain I've read it, but I've got nothing. Yikes.

  9. I can't recall anything from We Were Liars. I do remember there was some "big twist" and I didn't like the book much but that's all.

  10. I am so with you on PLL. I have read 3 of the books and watched the entire series. Can't remember what happened in the books.

  11. I don't know how it's possible but I remember quite a big part of "We were liars" even though I've read it 4 years ago. Perhaps, it was because the book was something new to me, or cause of that end that blew me away but I can tell you a lot of what it happens in it. :D And still there are some books that I really liked by the point I was reading them, and now I can't even remember the characters'names. Some of those are: Clockwork Prince; The Sword of Summer; Looking for Alaska and many more. :)

  12. Ughhh, I definitely know what you mean by forgetting Sarah Dessen books. She's been one of the few authors whose works I've kept up with, but because I've read so many titles, they all kind of get lumped together in my head. The plot for one story becomes another and the characters and their traits/habits/personalities all sort of become one. I know for sure a good Sarah Dessen re-read is needed for me, at least.

  13. I can see why you would forget pretty little liars, what with the show being so different. I hardly remember it myself. The two I did read.
