Just like Jesse Spano, I'm "SO EXCITED"!! If I could sing like the Zack Attack, I would sing you guys a song about how much I've loved being in this awesome book world for the last 6 years!!
- My OFFICIAL Blogoversary is tomorrow-- but maybe for the first time EVER, I'm getting a jump on this :)
- I've had some ups and downs, but blogging, promoting books, talking to bookish people about books gives me life & I couldn't imagine a life without it. It might sound dumb, but starting this blog set me on a journey where I found my place. It's more than a hobby, it gives me a feeling of purpose.
- This past year has been a weird one in the blogging world. I feel like we're at a turning point where a lot of the bloggers I looked up to when I was a baby blogger have moved on, or just don't seem INTO it anymore & there's a whole new crop of people starting out. Of course, I'm all about meeting new people (and one of my goals this year is to follow a bunch of new blogs), but I'm also one of those people who hates change and can't help but feel sad when so many people are just poof, gone :(
- Well, that's enough of the sad. Let's look to the future and the fun stuff!! For my 6th blogging year I'm most looking forward to ALA in New Orleans. I can't wait to go to this city that I've never been to but always wanted to go, and see some of my fave bookish friends, and see all the pretty BOOKS!!
- I'm also having a great time organizing blog tours over at The Fantastic Flying Book Club & some of the books we have scheduled for Spring and Summer have me like 🎉🎉🎉. And I don't want to forget my podcast, We Know What You Did On Fear Street. Me, Mia, and Cassi are still recording one episode a month, and it's probably the thing in my life that I most look forward to (besides kid stuff). Reading Fear Street books and talking about 90's nostalgia gives me way too much joy.
- I'm going to share with you my FIRST EVER POST, which is a review, because I share it every year :)
Some quick stats:
- I've posted 1003 times!!
- 295 Reviews, 80+ Discussion Posts, 94 Blog Tours
- Almost 8200 comments
- 400,000+ pageviews
Also, I want to say a big thanks to everyone who's booktalked, commented here, buddy-read, lent me books, rec'd me books, invited me to do bookish things or blogging things with them, visited my site, social media'd with me, and just generally been a support for me through this journey. You guys rock and I 100% would not have continued to blog without you :)

ReplyDeleteCongrats on six years! I'm so bummed I can't make it to ALA this year because seeing you again would be FAB!! I hope you have a blast though. :) I'm also sad about all the bloggers who have stopped in the years I've been doing this, but all the newbies are fab too! I like making new bloggy friends.

Ah, congratulations on six years of blogging! That's such a huge accomplishment. <3
ReplyDeleteWow 6 years!! Congrats and Happy Blogoversary!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY SIX YEARS!! So awesome, Michelle.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I see so many people leaving behind book blogging. It IS sad. I think, as a whole, blogging has fallen off and isn't "cool" anymore. Which makes me even sadder since this community has been such an amazing and good part of my life. Here's hoping, those of us still blogging can keep this little world going for a while yet. :)
Happy blogiversary! Six years is amazing. I definitely related to being sad seeing familiar faces disappear. There are a couple of bloggers who started blogging around the same time I did that are no longer a part of the community. But, like you said, there are always new bloggers to discover. Wishing you lots of bookish fun and blogging success during this new year!
ReplyDeleteHappy blogoversary!!! Sorry to hear you're a bit down about the bloggers who've left, even I've seen some blogger friends disappear in the couple years I've been around, but the community is still here at least <3 And wow, those stats, you're kicking butt!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogoversary!! i wish you many more years of reading pleasure (and sharing with it with us)
ReplyDeletecongrats for these 6years

Congratulations!! Six years, my goodness, such an accomplishment! It IS pretty crazy that so many people have been leaving lately- I feel like there's a mass exodus every couple years. But hopefully we'll survive the culling :D And I REALLY hope we both get to NOLA, too!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 6 years of blogging!! I agree that it's sad to see so many blogger friends disappearing, but I think it works in cycles like that. Hopefully we'll be around for many years to come!
