The short and the sweet of it:
The subject matter in this book is really important. Teens need to have more books available that delve into teen pregnancy. I really liked how the book showed Maggie being in denial for a long time. I think a lot of teens think if they just don't acknowledge a problem, it will go away. 50% of the book is all about her fear of being pregnant and not knowing who to tell and when. The other 50% is her making her decision and figuring out how everyone fits into it. It was nice to see that even after she made a choice, she had doubts, because most people doubt themselves when it comes to big decisions (over and over again if you are me).
Are there things I would change? Sure. But that's true of most books I read. I would've liked a more concrete ending. It's left sort of undone, but I'm sure the reason for that is for the focus to be more on the issue of the choice. Also I'm really not keen on a girl dating another guy while pregnant... that's just me! But I don't think it's very realistic to say a H.S. guy is going to even be interested in a pregnant girl... I'm hoping girls don't really think that happens very much. Also I wish the aunt wasn't so inappropriate at times. But all, in all, great topic for a book, I'm glad it's out there and I recommend!
