Top Ten Tuesday- Books feat. Tough Subjects

Top Ten Tuesday is a really cool original feature/weekly meme created over at The Broke and The Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten List that bloggers join in on answering... and today (May 14th), I'm one of them :)

Today's Topic:

Top Ten Books on my 2013 TBR Dealing With Tough Subjects

I've already done a list featuring books about death/suicide, so now I'm going to share with you books on my TBR List for 2013 that feature similarly tough stuff

1.  Thin Space By: Jody Casella- Death of twin

2.  Meet Me at the River By: Nina de Gramont- Taboo relationship and death of step-sibling

3.  The After Girls By: Leah Konen- Friend's suicide

4.  Premeditated By: Josin L. McQuein- Cousin's suicide attempt

5.  The Namesake By: Steven Parlato- Father's suicide

6.  Then You Were Gone By: Lauren Strasnick- Death of friend

7.  Fault Line By: Christa Desir- Sexual assault

8.  Me Since You By: Laura Wiess- Father's death

9.  Hurt By: Tabitha Suzuma- Boy with a disturbing secret

10.  My Life After Now By: Jessica Verdi- Girl with HIV

So most of these aren't out yet, but there are a few that have been released already... I just haven't gotten to them yet.  So are there any of these that you've been waiting on to come out, or any that you read already?

**I can't wait to see what you guys put on your Debbie-Downer lists this week :)

  1. I've not heard of most of these before but they sound interesting. I like that you found ten different tough situation books.

  3. Ooh, I just purchased myself a copy of My Life After Now. I hope it's great! It sounds so heartbreaking. Also, Laura Weiss is one of my favorite authors, so of course I have her newest title on my TBR list. Great choices this week!

  9. I am pretty much excited for all of these because I am apparently a dark and depressing person who only reads dark and depressing book. I actually think I'm an annoying optimist so I don't know where my love of dark books comes from!

I've had My Life After Now for a while and haven't read it. I was so excited for it, but I've read some mixed reviews.
