Top Ten Tuesday- 2014 Debuts

Top Ten Tuesday is a really cool original feature/weekly meme created over at The Broke and The Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten List that bloggers join in on answering... and today (January 14th) I'm one of them :)

Today's Topic

Top Ten 2014 Debuts I'm Excited For

I'm excited for this topic because I LOVE DEBUTS!!  It's so fun finding new authors AND a lot of times the topics that debut books cover are completely fresh.  Sorry, but you know I had to go more than 10!

UPDATE: ok after looking at my list for 2013 Debuts, I didn't read AS many debuts last year as I wanted.  Hopefully I'll do better this year!  Also check out my list of 2014 New Releases that I'm dying for (funnily none of these crossed over).

1.  Pointe by Brandy Colbert- Pretty cover!!  And about a ballerina with AND a kidnapping??  I like it!  ~Expected April 2014
2.  Nearly Gone by Elle Cosimano- Yay for YA Mysteries!! ~Expected March 2014
3.  Ask Again Later by Liz Czukas- I have a weakness for prom books ~Expected March 2014
4.  Far From You by Tess Sharpe- A girl with an Oxy addiction who narrowly escapes death by a mad man in the woods... her BFF was not so lucky.  Now fresh out of rehab, she's going to figure out what really happened to her friend.  HOW FREAKING GOOD DOES THAT SOUND!!!  ~Expected April 2014
5.  Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige- A Wizard of Oz retelling that sounds super creative and it's going to be a series!  ~Expected April 2014
6.  Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira- A girl grieving for her sister writes letters to dead rock stars.  Love it!!  ~Expected April 2014
7.  Killer Instinct by S.E. Green- A girl who thinks she might be a serial killer decides to channel her dark impulses by hunting them instead. ~Expected May 2014
8.  The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu- A book about the power of rumors.  And I'm a sucker for "The Truth About..." books.  ~Expected June 2014
9.  The Merciless by Danielle Vega- A YA Horror about a group of girls who believe another girl is possessed and want to exorcise her. ~Expected August 2014
10.  My Last Kiss by Bethany Neal- A dead girl must figure out what happened the night she died, prove it wasn't a suicide, and it's all leading up to her last kiss.  ~Expected June 2014
11.  A Death Struck Year by Makiia Lucier- YA Historical Fiction!!!  I did a lot of research this summer on the Spanish Influenza for a documentary and it is seriously SO interesting... and scary!  Can't wait to read this one.  ~Expected March 2014
12.  When Audrey Met Alice by Rebecca Behrens- MG Historical Fiction-ish.  The First Daughter feels like a prisoner in the White House.  Then she finds Alice Roosevelt's Diary... and she starts asking herself: What Would Alice Do?  ~Expected February 2014

So excited for so many 2014 books... and lot of them happen to be debuts!!  What debuts are you looking out for???

  9. You have SO many books listed here that I really want to read. I especially want to read Love Letters to The Dead, Nearly Gone, and Far From You. Besides, how about the cover for Far From You? Isn't it just gorgeous? It was love at first sight. . . Besides, it almost sounds like a murder mystery. I honestly can't wait to read it.

  14. This is a great list. This is the first time I have seen Merciless on a TTT and I am so glad. Really excited for that one. YA horror is pretty rare.
