New YA Releases For The Week Of 1/3

These are the books I'm obsessing over this week:

By: Marieke Nijkamp
A school shooting told from 4 different perspectives.

By: Laurie Elizabeth Flynn
Mercedes has been secretly helping the virgin guys of her school by giving them a sex lesson so that they can give their girlfriends the perfect first time.  But things get complicated when her best friend's boyfriend tries to use her services.

(#1)
By: Alexandra Bracken
The highly anticipated sci-fi/time travel book is finally here.

(The Witchlands #1)
By: Susan Dennard
Another highly anticipated release from the author of Something Strange and Deadly.  Safiya is a Truthwitch, something she must keep hidden.  When war comes to the Witchlands, Safi and her best friend (and a prince) work together to fight people who would do anything in order to gain access to a Truthwitch.

By: Robin Palmer
Zoe is a 16-year-old in 1986, but after an accident wakes up in 2016 with a totally different life.  She tries to get help from her best friend Jonah, but in her 2016 life, she's not exactly friends with her nerdy 1986 bestie.  As she navigates popularity, new technology and fashion, she tries to figure out a way to get back to 1986.... if she even still wants to.

By: Kelly (Fiore) Stultz
CeCe, once an honor student looking for a way to pay for college, is now on trial for the death of her brother.

By: Rodman Philbrick
When all electricity shuts off and society shuts down, a boy embarks on a journey to find medicine that his mother needs to save her life.

By: Laura Nowlin
Ramona and Sam are in a band and there are feelings flying around.  Then they meet Tom and know he's the missing piece they've been looking for.  When Ramona starts falling for Tom, things get extra complicated.

By: William Osborne
A historical fiction about a boy who loots houses for the Nazi's but then turns spy and tries to end the war.

Other Books Coming Out This Week:

I'm excited for 2016 already!!  So many good books are coming out this year, and I'm pumped to try to read as many of them as I can.  I already read Firsts and I definitely recommend.  It's completely unique and fearless.  My most anticipated for this week is This is Where It Ends.  It totally sounds like a "me" book.  I also want to read Once Upon a Kiss because HELLO!?!?!  It's like 13 Going on 30, but without the whole being 30 thing.  And I'm definitely thinking about Truthwitch and Passenger.  They're just a tad hyped & that always tends to scare me away, but I'm thinking about them.

Which books are you interested in this week?

  1. This is such a great week for new book releases! I really loved Passenger and I'm dying to read Truthwitch and the hype is making me even more obsessed with starting it. Alexandra Bracken and Susan Dennard are doing an event in NYC next week and I took a half day so I could be early to it! I'm hoping to finish Truthwitch by then. And I think I'm going to read Firsts next week! I really want to get to new releases right away without letting them sit at all this year!

  2. There are some awesome books out this week. I am curious about Truthwitch and Passenger myself. I reviewed This is Where it Ends today, it is powerful but it has its flaws. I would highly recommend The Impostor, Amazing!

  3. I really enjoyed Firsts! A lot of these looks so good. After seeing all the negative reviews for This is Where it Ends I may have to pass on that one.

    1. Oh no!! I haven't been reading the reviews for This is Where it Ends! That stinks that it doesn't seem to be living up to expectations :( I still want to try it though. I'm glad you liked Firsts. It wasn't perfect, but I read it really fast and enjoyed what the author was going for.

  4. I read THICKER THAN WATER and wow...it's an important book about how drug abuse/addiction affects the entire family not just the person who is an addict. I am really looking forward to FIRSTS

  5. So many amazing books are coming out in January. I am desperate for so many of them, but have 0 money because of Christmas. As soon as I get paid at the end of this month, I will be buying a whole bunch of these - especially Passenger and Truth Witch.
