Top Ten Tuesday- Beach Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a really cool original feature/weekly meme created over at The Broke and The Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten List that bloggers join in on answering... and today (May 31st) I'm one of them :)

Today's Topic

Top Ten Books To Bring To The Beach This Summer

  • I don't know about you, but I like to read Mysteries at the beach.  Sometimes I'll throw in a summery feeling book from a different genre, but there's something about a Mystery and the ocean that just go together for me.  Here is a list of books I'll be thinking about for my beach bag:

1.  With Malice by Eileen Cook
  • I've already read this, but I can't NOT put it on my list because-- It's a PERFECT beach book.  A book you never want to put down, so you can just lie on the beach for hours and hours reading... what better thing is there?

2.  The Lifeboat Clique by Kathy Parks
  • Another one I've already read, and a non-mystery, but I like it for the beach because it's funny and it's Castaway-like.

3.  Please Don't Tell by Laura Tims
  • This is a thriller about a girl who thinks she probably killed a boy she hated and is now being blackmailed.

4.  738 Days by Stacey Kade
  • So again, not a mystery, but I've heard only really really good things about this book... and I love Stacey Kade.... and look how summery the cover looks!!
  • Release Date: June 7, 2016

5.  Run by Kody Keplinger
  • Such a beach book because-- ROAD TRIP!!  And on the run from the cops!
  • Release Date: June 28, 2016

6.  You Know Me Well by Nina LaCour & David Levithan
  • Set during San Francisco Pride (which is typically in June), and it's about friendship.  Also, I could read any Nina LaCour book at the beach.
  • Release Date: June 7, 2016

7.  Twisted by Hannah Jayne
  • The daughter of a serial killer... and there's new bodies piling up??  YES!
  • Release Date: July 5, 2016

8.  How to Disappear by Ann Redisch Stampler
  • A girl is on the run for a murder and a boy is sent to hunt her down.  Totally beach!
  • Release Date: June 14, 2016

9.  Never Missing, Never Found by Amanda Panitch
  • A girl who was abducted as a child now works at an amusement park where a girl has gone missing.
  • Release Date: June 28, 2016

10.  American Girls by Alison Umminger
  • A girl who runs away to L.A. and starts researching the Manson Family??  Ummm, yeah, I'll be reading this at the beach (or anywhere else).
  • Release Date: June 7, 2016

  9. I loved that you picked mysteries. For me, summer mean contemporary and romance which are not genres I read very often. I'm always up for a good mystery :) Great list!

  12. I've never considered mysteries and the beach as destined companions, but I think you have a really good point. It would be so easy to get lost in that kind of book for sure. I like the sound of How to Disappear. It has me curious about why she committed a murder or if she committed it at all! So many questions. Nice list this week!
