Top Ten YA Books For The BSC Character With-In
- I love 80's-90's nostalgia, so today I decided to rec YA books for all the BSC characters. Whether you're a Kristy or a Jessi-- there's a book for you:
- Don't know which Babysitter you are?? Take THIS QUIZ & find out!!
1. Kristy Thomas
- Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill- Type "A", bossy, Julia definitely reminded me of Kristy-- the only thing she was missing was the sporty gene.
2. Claudia Kishi
- This is Our Story by Ashley Elston- Claudia LOVES a good mystery-- Kate is DEFINITELY channeling Nancy Drew... and there is a fashion element in this book.
3. Mary Anne Spier
- Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum- I see a lot of Mary Anne in Jessie. Loss of their mothers, dealing with remarriage and step-siblings, don't like being center of attention.
4. Stacey McGill
- It's Not Me, It's You by Stephanie Strohm- Avery is totally a Stacey. She's popular, boy-crazy, flirty, has to deal with mean girls, fashionable.
5. Dawn Schafer
- Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli- Are you a Dawn?? If so, you'll love Stargirl and her free-spirit, love for the environment, DGAF way of life.
6. Mallory Pike
- Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell- I can't imagine an aspiring writer NOT loving Cath and her mega popular Fanfiction.
7. Jessi Ramsey
- Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipota & Dhonielle Clayton- Jessi, the ballerina, would love to read about the dark side of the ballet world.
8. Abby Stevenson
- Defending Taylor by Miranda Kenneally- Athletic Abby would totally love the Hundred Oaks series-- especially this one about a soccer star.
9. Logan Bruno
- Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan- Logan totally reminds me of Dash. He goes along with Lily's game and takes an interest in the things she likes. He's a dick sometimes, but he's also sweet when it counts.
10. Shannon Kilbourne
- Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty- Jessica Darling is totally a Shannon. Overachiever, princess who doesn't think she is, frenemy, should DEFINITELY get a dog named after her.
So-- which BSC character are you??
What books are you recommending this week?
I absolutely love this post. What wonderful recommendations! I loved BSC!
ReplyDeleteTell Me three Things looks really fun, love that cover, and Fangirl is pretty awesome. I kind of wanted to read Dash & Lily but never did...
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! I loved BSC when I was a kid - I'd probably be Mary Anne! Awesome recommendations!
ReplyDeleteUm this post is amazing!!! I took the quiz and got Claudia and I really want to read This Is Our Story so it was perfect :)
ReplyDeleteSHUT UP! This idea is brilliant. It was not what we talked about but I love it so much more. The Jessi book is so perfect, so is the Mallory book, and the Dawn. All great! Love it!

Ooo! I just picked up Tell Me Three Things and have It's Not Me, It's You pre-ordered (paperback). Hopefully I'll enjoy both. :) Fun list, Michelle.
ReplyDeleteThis is the best TTT I have ever read. And I have read a LOT of them. You have my HEART with this BSC love. I took a quiz the other day, and before I started it, I was like "this damn quiz is going to tell me I'm Mallory" and... YEP, it did. So now I shall take the quiz you shared and keep my fingers crossed ;) Okay, this one told me I am LOGAN and tbh, I don't know what to do with that information? Because... how?
ReplyDeleteApparently I should be reading Dash & Lily's Book of Dares. (Oh, and I think that in reality, I am what would happen if Kristy and Mallory had a love child, so do with that what you will.)
Best. Post. Ever.
I totally took the quiz and I'm Dawn, haha. Tiny Pretty Things has been on my TBR forever. I must find time to read it. Thanks for the recs!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally a Mary Anne and I LOVED Tell Me Three Things so that's pretty spot on ;)
