Top Ten Tuesday-- THROWBACK TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a really cool original feature/weekly meme created over at The Broke and The Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten List that bloggers join in on answering... and today (September 12th) I'm one of them :)

Today's Topic

Top Ten Books That Are STILL On My TBR From Early Blogging Days

  • When I was a baby blogger, I became aware of a MASSIVE amount of books because that's when I also became a blog visitor.  These are some of those books that still remain on my TBR from those early days:

1.  The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen

  • I loved Sarah Dessen's early stuff, so when this came out it was immediately shelved on the TBR.  But even though I own it, I haven't read it yet.

2.  Reality Boy by A.S. King

  • A.S. King is another fave author that I will eventually read every book she's written.

3.  All the Truth That's in Me by Julie Berry

  • This book sounds creepy and twisty, and I've always wanted read it.

4.  In the Shadows of Blackbirds by Cat Winters

  • I don't read a lot of Historical Fiction, but I heard really good things about this when it first came out.  And I'm still interested in it.

5.  Perfect Escape by Jennifer Brown

  • Jennifer Brown is one of my fave authors of EVER.  This is one of her only books that I haven't read.

6.  3:59 by Gretchen McNeil

  • I've read a few of Ms. McNeil's books and I liked them.  I recently read an alternate reality book, In Some Other Life, and it made me want to read more.

7.  The Impossible Knife of Memory by Laurie Halse Anderson

  • YES to Laurie Halse Anderson.  I've loved all of her books, but didn't get around to reading this one when it came out.

8.  Pieces of Us by Margie Gelbwasser

  • I don't even remember what this is about anymore, but I LOVE the cover.

9.  Girl in the Park by Mariah Fredericks

  • A YA Mystery that I recently bought from BookOutlet, so I will be reading it.

10.  Not a Drop to Drink by Mindy McGinnis

  • I remember when it first came out it was EVERYWHERE, so that's probably why it ended up on my TBR-- but since then, I've read The Female of the Species and it's made me really excited to read more Mindy McGinnis.

What kind of list did you make for your Throwback List??  Have you read any of these??

  1. I remember putting Not a Drop to Drink on my TBR when it came out too, but I haven't heard anyone talk about it ever since, so I might have to go see what all the hype was about back then :)

  2. I haven't read any of these but I have the same thing where I have a ton of books on my TBR from when I first started blogging and it seemed like all books were new and I added EVERYTHING to GR. Great list!

  3. Hi! I tried to get into The Moon and More--I love Sarah Dessen!--but I just couldn't. I think it was my mood at that time in my life. I forgot about that book from Laurie Halse Anderson. I like her books, too. That was a good reminder! :)

  4. Great list! I haven't read any A.S. King yet and I'd like to, I've heard nothing but good things about her work. I read All the Truth That's in Me fairly recently and really enjoyed it - it'd be a great autumn/winter read!

  5. I'm also a big Sarah Dessen fan, but The Moon and More was not one of her more memorable titles. I remember liking it better than my least favorite (What Happened to Goodbye), but I prefer the older books. My post for today is Old School Kidlit Favorites Through the Decades.

  6. I was the same Michelle, I added so many books to my tbr, and only recently removed a lot. But you have so many great books to look forward to, I've heard only praising things about The Moon and More, The Truth That's in Me and Not A Drop to Drink, I hope you're able to get to some of these soon!

  7. I've done the same thing recently, Jasprit. Sometimes you have to know when to cull down your list to the stuff you're actually excited to read. :)

I hadn't heard of any of these books, but I am curious about The Girl in the Park.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

  10. I've only read a couple of things but as someone who usually isn't attracted to historical fiction either, I can definitely recommend In the Shadow of Blackbirds. It was such an interesting book!

  11. Oh yes! I know that feeling... it's so hard to keep up! I have so many books on my TBR from baby blogging days.

  12. Yes! I so have this feeling. I have not been blogging for that long, but I definitely have books that have been on my goodreads TBR for an embarrassingly long time. At some point I feel like I just have to give up and admit they might never be read : (

  14. I remember Not A Drop To Drink being everywhere, and I never did read it. And 3:59 too, I've read a couple of her books now and liked them, so I should get this one too.

  15. All the Truth That's In Me was so good. Berry makes me like historical fiction books. The Moon and More was cute (as are all Dessen books). The ending left me wanting, but the over all story was good. I want to read Reality Boy too. Tornado made me fall in love with King and I want to read all her books.

  16. Love your take on the topic! I still have a lot of books still on my TBR from when I started blogging as well. Like Sarah Dessen, who's been on my TBR for ages and yet I still haven't read any of her books... :)

  17. This is an interesting topic! I have only been blogging for maybe a year so far, not even... but I know for sure that I have added a loooot of weird books on Goodreads after I just joined :D should probably sort through those...
