Top Ten DIY Halloween Costumes Part III
- I've done DIY Costumes for the last 2 Halloween TTT's, but since I love playing in Polyvore, I decided I'll probably do it every year-- even though it's not actually that bookish (It's hard to come up with an all bookish costume post like I did the first year!!)
- Oh and because I love the 80's-90's, there are definitely some costumes from those eras thrown in :)
1. Mermaid
- If you live somewhere warm, this would be a fun to do!! Also, throw on a red wig and you could be Ariel :)
2. Waldo
- 90's for the WIN!!
3. White Witch
- From The Chronicles of Narnia series-- I freaking love bad-ass looking crowns!!
4. Blossom
- Remember the TV show Blossom?? I always loved her 100% 90's style-- the hats were on point.
- Where in the World is Camen Sandiego?? This was a computer game turned game show that was supposed to teach kids about Geography-- personally?? I just liked the song!!
- Ms. Frizzle is the eccentric teacher from The Magic School Bus books/TV show series. The traditional Frizzle is a space themed dress, but her dress changes with every theme, so I picked dinosaurs :)
- I've always wanted to do 80's prom!! Finding the dress would be the hardest part (and getting my hair to go BIG wouldn't be an easy task!!).
8. Elle Woods
- Wear this outfit and learn the "bend and snap" and you're good to go.
- Another 90's costume, and I love making boy costumes for girls!!
- Blair WAS this show-- and her style is my fave!!
You know what I love about DIY costumes?? You can totally wear the clothes (well, most of them) as part of your real life wardrobe after Halloween is over-- and you probably already own pieces from a lot of these costumes, so getting going on them isn't completely overwhelming.
If you were dressing up as one of these characters, who would you pick?
OMG these are great!!! Love Blossom and Carmen San Diego!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks :) I love the 90's and couldn't resist a style icon like Blossom!!
DeleteThese are so awesome. I'm really loving Waldo and Ms. Frizzle. I do like people's costumes that are made up of everyday clothes!

It's so fun to use clothes you already have to make up a costume!! I look forward to doing it all year long :)
DeleteLove your Blair outfit! Also where is Carmen Sandiego's coat from because I NEED it?!

I'm kind of loving the red trench too. It's from some website I've never heard of on Polyvore, but I'm sure there are similar ones for sale that are way cheaper and from trustworthy sites.
DeleteWow they are all terrific!!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteLove the Blair Waldorf look! So spot on. Also dig the Elle Woods one. I saw someone wearing those mermaid leggings this year while I was out during the weekend! I loved them and they're pretty spot on to what she wore. Great list of costumes!
ReplyDeleteI kind of wanted to be a mermaid after finding these leggings!! They're ADORABLE!!
DeleteThese are fun! I always loved Blossom, and those mermaid pants are incredible.
ReplyDeleteBlossom was so cool. And OMG YES to the mermaid leggings. How can I incorporate them into my everyday wardrobe without looking ridiculous??
DeleteI now want to dress up as Carmen Sandiego so badly. Also a big fan of the mermaid costume. Great list!
ReplyDeleteThanks :) Carmen Sandiego has always been on my "someday" dress up list!
DeleteGreat list. All of these costumes would be fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!

Thanks :) The Elle Woods one was actually the hardest one for me to put together! She had so many outfits in the movie, and I couldn't decide which one was the most iconic-- so I just made one up that felt like "her"
DeleteThis is a cute idea for this week's prompt. I love the options you chose to feature. Ms. Frizzle is definitely my favorite!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so much fun! Love Blair Waldorf, Elle Woods and Waldo especially :)
