New Books Out This Week 9/10

These are the new books I'm obsessing over this week:

By: Ellen Hopkins
3 teens who are loosely connected deal with issues when it comes to love.  Insecurities, jealousy, you know ALL the areas will be covered by Ms. Hopkins.  Can't wait to read another prose book!

By: Adrienne Maria Vrettos
A girl wakes up on the subway with no memory of how she got there (or why she's wearing an ill-fitting Halloween costume).  She's not supposed to have these blackouts anymore, she's reformed.  But it seems her former life may have come back...
I wasn't wild about The Exile of Gigi Lane, but this one sounds too good to pass on!

By: E.M. Kokie
A boy makes a discovery about his brother (who died in Iraq) that makes him question how well he knew his brother in the first place.
Sounds super INTENSE!!  In a good way!

By: Lara Avery
A girl wakes after being in a coma for 5 years.  Life has gone on without her and she has to make sense of everything being different.  Also she knows things that happened while she was unconscious and things that haven't even happened yet.
I'm on the fence... it sounds good, but I feel like it might be one of those ones that disappoint... we'll see!

 By: Heather Swain
It says it's a cross between Twilight and The Breakfast Club.  Umm that's a pretty weird combination!!  I thinks it's a parody of the whole supernatural trend that is out of control (in my opinion).  Sounds funny & I love the cover!

By: Sophie Littlefield
A seamstress who can see people's past when she touches their clothing.  Can she help find a murderer?
Could be cool.

Also out this week:

Flesh & Bone By: Jonathan Maberry- Highly awaited 3rd book in the Rot & Ruin series.  (I think this stuff is too scary for me!!!)
Fang Girl By: Helen Keeble- Sounds like a cute-ish vampire book... although those 2 words sound odd together.

So what sounds good to you??  Anything you've already read?

  1. Josie Griffin is Not a Vampire sounds like an interesting read, I hadn't heard of that one! I love the supernatural genre but I agree it is everywhere and I wouldn't protest to a parody about this point. ;] Also going to have to check out Hanging by a Thread as well, that cover is super intriguing!

    Thanks for sharing these!

  2. Fang Girl is a silly parody of the paranormal craze too, in case it wasn't obvious. :)

    (er, Fang Girl author here)

I'm looking forward to reading Jodie Griffin Is Not A Vampire too - the world needs more comedy books!

    1. Wow thanks for stopping by! I love a good parody! I definitely want to read it (I saw Giselle featured it on xpresso reads!!). And I totally agree more comedy books are needed... I love when I'm reading and I laugh out loud and people look at me weird, it amuses me to no end :)
