New Books Out Week of 2/23

These are the books I'm obsessing over this week:

By: Courtney C. Stevens
Alexi has a secret.  She's so ashamed by it, she hides in her closet and wants to hurt herself.  Bodee, the boy next door, has his fair share of pain as well.  His dad has just murdered his mother and now he's coming to stay with Alexi.  Can these two lean on and give each other the support they need to overcome the past and face the truth?

By: Elizabeth Eulberg
Everyone says girls and guys can't be friends, but that is what Levi and Macallan are.  Completely plutonic.  The only problem is everyone else.  Guys don't want to ask Macallan out because she's always with Levi, and Levi's dates always get jealous of all the time he spends joking around with Macallan.  This leads them to start questioning it too: are they really just friends, or is it something more?

(Unremembered #2)
By: Jessica Brody
Packed with mystery, suspense, and romance, this riveting second installment of Jessica Brody’s Unremembered trilogy delivers more heart-pounding action as loyalties are tested, love becomes a weapon, and no one’s memories are safe. ~Goodreads

(Tin Star #1)
By: Cecil Castellucci
Tula has been betrayed by her ship's leader Brother Blue.  He brutally beats her and she is left for dead on an alien space station.  She is on a dangerous planet, but is befriended by a group of insect-like aliens.  She settles in until a group of humans crash land, and she knows that now is her time for vengeance.

By: Eileen Cook
Avery and Nora used to be best friends.  As kids they originally bonded over both being adopted, but they've grown apart.  Avery is now a popular cheerleader and Nora is a loner.  They never talk until Nora pulls Avery aside at a party and tells her a terrible story about her search for her birth parents.  The next day Avery learns that Nora has OD'd.  This affects her deeply, and she decides the best way to honor her friend is to look for her own birth mother.  Along the way she gets help from Brody, one of Nora's few friends who is looking for his own way to grieve.

By: David Klass
When Daniel invites his father along for a parent-child chess tournament, he can't understand why his teammates are so excited.  Then he learns that as a child his father was one of the best players in the country... until the stress got to him and he had to quit to save his sanity.  Now Mr. Pratzer has to face some old demons and a showdown with an old competitor while also building a father/son relationship that has been strained over the years.

(The Secret Diamond Sisters #1)
By: Michelle Maddow
A rags-to-riches story about Savannah, Courtney, and Peyton who have grown up in a bad home situation, never knowing who their father is.  But things change big time when they discover the true identity of dad: Billionaire Las Vegas Hotel Owner.  He invites them to come live in one of his suites right on the strip.  Now they have access to all the hot clubs and unlimited credit cards.  But Vegas has it's own social clique that the girls have to try to fit in to, and throw in boys and problems with dad and there's a lot more to fixing their lives than just hitting the jackpot.

(#1)
By: Ali Novak
When Jackie's parents are killed in a car accident, she goes to live with her mom's best friend and her 12 BOYS!!!

By: Jolene Perry
Kate has just been dumped by her dream boyfriend.  She also just found out she has type 1 diabetes.  Aidan planned on making the army his life career.  Now he's a disabled veteran struggling to embrace a life he didn't plan for.  When Kate and Aidan meet, they aren't looking to get attached, but maybe they are just what the other one needs...

By: Natasha Preston
When 16-year-old Summer goes missing everyone is shocked and scared.  She's been taken by a deranged man who locks her in a cellar with 3 other girls.  They all have to play along with his sick game to be his "family" and do whatever it takes to live long enough to (hopefully) by rescued or escape.

(Fire & Flood #1)
By: Victoria Scott
Tella gets a mysterious invitation to be a Contender in the Brimstone Bleed.  The prize?  A cure for her dying brother.  Along with an animal with special abilities to help guide her, Tella and her competitors must race for the Cure with no guarantee that she, or any of them, will survive.
