Spring Break 2018- Books, Bathing Suits, & Clothes

I guess I'm making this an annual thing!!  I really had fun doing it the last 2 years, so I'm going to continue.  If you want to see those posts, you can find them HERE and HERE.  But now on to 2018 and all the glorius books & clothes that I'm excited about!!

Spring is a big time for books.  I look forward to April every year because I KNOW there are going to be some really exciting new releases.  It's also SPRING BREAK time, so I thought why not combine them??  Here are some exciting YA books combined with Spring Break locations I thought would be fun to read them at-- and clothes to wear while doing it:

**As always, I try to keep the costs down.  Most items are under $50, some are under $100, and very few pricey exceptions exist.**

BEACH

The Accidental Bad Girl by Maxine Kaplan-- Pub. Date: 5/15

  • Beach for Spring Break is the ultimate, and I love reading books like this at the beach!!  I know some people are all about the cute romance at the beach, but my beach books are page-turners!!
  • The Outfit: I am really feeling the new take on one-pieces that have been trending the last few years.  This one has fun cut-outs and who needs a cover-up when your suit looks like this?

BEACH

White Rabbit by Caleb Roehrig-- Pub. Date: 4/24

  • The cover may not look beachy, but this Mystery/Thriller would be one of my ultimate beach picks.  There's nothing I love more than unraveling a mystery while the waves crash in the background.
  • The Outfit: I love how the blue and the lines in this suit go with the cover in a weird way.

DAYTIME

Stay Sweet by Siobhan Vivian-- Pub. Date: 4/24

  • A cute book about girls running an ice cream stand.  It couldn't be more perfect to inspire a day out (maybe getting ice cream???)
  • The Outfit: Okay, I went a little overboard on the ice cream accessories, but I couldn't help it!!  Also, those wedges are a NEED for me.

NIGHT OUT

In Her Skin by Kim Savage-- Pub. Date: 3/27

  • Even if you're staying home over Spring Break, that doesn't mean you can't go out!!  But if you are on location, you should go out too!!  Reading IN HER SKIN will get you in that bad girl, wild mood.
  • The Outfit: Who doesn't want a pleather skater skirt??  Correction-- I want a pleather skirt!!

POOL DAY

Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson-- Pub Date: 5/8

  • Who doesn't want to read about bringing teenage girls back to life while relaxing by the pool?
  • The Outfit: A jean jacket was a MUST, obviously.  Printed Vans just seemed to go with this book too well to not have-- even though tennis shoes + pool water might not be the best choice.

CASINO NIGHT

Ace of Shades (The Shadow Game #1) by Amanda Foody-- Pub Date: 4/10

  • You gotta go sexy at the casino!!
  • The Outfit: Can't go wrong with an Ace of Spades clutch for good luck.

Dinner Date

The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw-- Pub. Date: 3/6

  • Maybe luring boys to their death won't get you in the mood for a good meal, but let's just pretend it would :)
  • The Outfit: Whether it's a date date, or just a dinner with friends-- Spring Break is the perfect time to treat yourself to some good food and good company.

Glamping

Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett-- Pub. Date: 4/3

  • I'm not much of a camper, but hey-- that's some people's jam!!  So, if you're planning to go camping over Spring Break, you could totally read STARRY EYES to get you in the mood.
  • The Outfit: Layers.  I think camping in the spring requires layers.  And don't forget the bug spray!!

ROAD TRIP

Miriam Sharma Hits the Road by Sheba Karim-- Pub. Date: 6/5

  • A road trip to New Orleans???  Umm, yes!!!  Perfect book to inspire that road trippin' feeling.
  • The Outfit: I was going to put a cute pair of boyfriend jeans with this book, but ughhhh pants.  I'm so sick of pants (due to a looooong winter), so a dress it is!!  You could totally wear some yoga shorts under this dress so that you can be comfortable lounging.

COACHELLA

Kill All Happies by Rachel Cohn-- Pub. Date: 5/2/2017

  • Okay, this book isn't NEW, it came out last spring, but it's about a festival in the desert!!  Perfect Coachella (or any music festival) book.
  • The Outfit: You gotta have mulitple outfits for a multi-day festival.  I love the long open skirt idea-- because you can totally wear shorts under it, plus it's airy.

I hope you all have an awesome Spring Break-- even if that just means a long Easter weekend!!

What are you planning on reading/wearing/going during yours?

  4. These are all so cute. And you were just saying how you haven’t used Polyvore in awhile. Also, I would wear the crap out of the Starry Eyes look. Everything down to the owl earrings. It is so my asthetic.

    1. Right?? I don't think I've ever even owned a pair of Vans in my life (I was a Puma girl in HS), but I think I need those ones!!

  6. DUDE I love these! First, I need those shoes in Ace of Spades. THEN I need the skirt from Kill all Happies. And finally, I need the pool floaty thing because it is adorable. These are all seriously SO spot on. I feel you with the camping, but I swear for juuuuust a second Starry Eyes made me reconsider. But then I came to my senses, no worries :D

    1. Haha, I'm about to read STARRY EYES, and I was wondering if it might make me THINK I'd like to go camping (cause I already KNOW that I won't ever like it-- from too much experience). I also need the shoes!! Thanks for your kind words :)
