Reading Future- November

Here's what I see in my reading future for November:

The Retribution of Mara Dyer (Mara #3) by Michelle Hodkin

Mara Dyer wants to believe there's more to the lies she’s been told. There is.

She doesn’t stop to think about where her quest for the truth might lead. She should.

She never had to imagine how far she would go for vengeance. She will now.

Loyalties are betrayed, guilt and innocence tangle, and fate and chance collide in this shocking conclusion to Mara Dyer’s story. Retribution has arrived.

  • I will definitely be spending the weekend with this book... THIS WEEKEND!
  • I cannot wait to find out what happens.... is Mara just crazy??  Is this whole thing just a dream or hallucination (if it is I'm going to be pissed)??  WTF happened to Noah??

Captive (Blackcoat Rebellion #2) by Aimee Carter

For the past two months, Kitty Doe's life has been a lie. Forced to impersonate the Prime Minister's niece, her frustration grows as her trust in her fake fiancĂ© cracks, her real boyfriend is forbidden and the Blackcoats keep her in the dark more than ever.

But in the midst of discovering that her role in the Hart family may not be as coincidental as she thought, she's accused of treason and is forced to face her greatest fear: Elsewhere. A prison where no one can escape.

As one shocking revelation leads to the next, Kitty learns the hard way that she can trust no one, not even the people she thought were on her side. With her back against the wall, Kitty wants to believe she'll do whatever it takes to support the rebellion she believes in—but is she prepared to pay the ultimate price?

  • I was sent this by the publisher and that made my day!!  So yes I will read this!
  • I still have to read the first book, but I think I can swing both this month :)
  • I'm not a big dystopian fan, but this series was on my list of books I wanted to try from outside my comfort zone (which I've ended up liking every single one that I've tried from that list!!)

Finding Harry Styles by G.B. Hope

When a total power black-out hits the world - planes falling from the sky, cars crashing, cell phones and computers dying - two Englishmen are stranded, separately, on the East Coast of the US. They both try to make their way to their girlfriend and sister, respectively, who is trapped in New York. As society turns quickly to chaos, the two men encounter violence, tragedy, friendships and adventure, joined along the way by several different characters.

Meanwhile, the girl they are working their way towards is surviving as best she can, all the while terribly worried for her idol; Harry Styles, of the band One Direction, who were performing in New York at the time of the unexplained apocalyptic event.

  • I didn't hear about this book when it came out, but I really think it sounds cool and different.
  • I love that this girl is worried about One Direction amidst end of the world events... that is just entertaining!!

Ashes to Ashes (Burn for Burn #3) by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian

New Year's Eve ended with a bang and Mary, Kat and Lillia may not be prepared for what is to come.

After Rennie's death, Kat and Lillia try to put the pieces together of what happened to her. They both blame themselves. If Lillia hadn't left with Reeve... If Kat had only stayed with Rennie... Things could have been different. Now they will never be the same.

Only Mary knows the truth about that night. About what she is. She also knows the truth about Lillia and Reeve falling in love, about Reeve being happy when all he deserves is misery, just like the misery he caused her. Now their childish attempts at revenge are a thing of the past and Mary is out for blood. Will she leave anything in her wake or will all that remain be ashes?

  • I just ordered this yesterday and I'm dying to finish this series.
  • I'm a little disappointed I didn't read it when it first came out, but I'm only like 2 months behind.
  • I love Jenny Han!  Everything she writes is like WOAH.  And Siobhan Vivian is a good writer too.  Put them together??  This series is awesome.

  • Loud Awake and Lost by Adele Griffin- Because I love this author and need to read more by her.
  • Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson- I mean WHY do I keep putting this off??  I MUST stop staring at it on my shelf and read the damn thing.

I'm trying to keep my reading goals attainable this month.  I am bad about meeting goals... very bad.  This month I am up for the challenge.  Did you read any of these books??  What did you think of them?  Do you plan to read any of these??  What do you plan on reading this month... like what's your #1 priority?
