I'm NOT in a blogging slump!

I'm inspired.  When it comes to reading and blogging, it's been a LOOOONG time since I could really say that.  Last year I went through a terrible reading slump... which obviously led to a terrible blogging slump.  Those slumps really had me feeling down because reading and blogging are my hobbies.  Like, my only real hobbies (unless you count buying lipstick a hobby???).  So if I'm not reading and I'm not blogging, what am I doing??  That's how I feel.

Somewhere between then and now I've hit this really nice place where I WANT to read and I WANT to blog.  I've been coming up with new blogging ideas (which YIKES, hasn't happened in a long time).  I want to do other things... things that have more personality and FUN in them.  And it comes at a good time because-- BEA (Book Expo America) is this week!!  Which means SO many books and blogger interaction.  Which means even more inspiration (hopefully) and books to read and feature on here (not that I really neeeed more books haha).

I want to keep pushing myself to stand out.  To put out content that is ME and no one else.  Which.... guys, it's really hard.  You people are SO creative and awesome, and it's hard to stand out in this really cool bookish world we have here on the internets.  But it's not just about standing out... it's about being me.  Showing you guys who I really am and how fun books can be.  I don't know allllll the details on how I am going to do this (because it's definitely a work-in-progress), but after 4 years of blogging, I'm still feeling inspired to come up with new stuff... and that can only be a good thing!

So what does all this mean??  I'm not 100% sure--- but I know it means more fashion stuff, more books w/ fashion :), more off-the-wall lists like this one, just more of everything FUN!

So what about you??  Do you ever find yourself going through ups and downs when it comes to blogging?  How do you show your personalities in your blogs?

  1. That's so great Michelle!! Recently I was about done with writing reviews, I felt bored. Then I changed it up and added the hashtags and it made it fun for me again. When I first started blogging was nervous to be myself and now I don't care and I keep opening up even more. think that comes across in my reviews. I'm so glad you AREN'T in a slump & you're having ideas! 😀

  2. Yay!! I am excited to see all your new stuff - especially fashion since that is not my strong suit but I love it. I go through ups and downs with blogging to I get it. I do a lot of TV stuff since that is my other favorite thing besides books. But it is hard to be original.

    1. I've been doing more movie/tv stuff too. I love books like WOAH, but sometimes I feel like I'm talking about the same things all the time and I get a tad bored. Not a lot bored because books = awesome.... but just a small amount.

  3. Looking forward to more fashion stuff! I am in a bad book/book blogging slump right now, it sucks but I'm not trying to force it. Hopefully it passes soon!

    1. YES, definitely don't force it! I love your make-up stuff, so if you're just doing that until you feel like booking, I'm happy :)

  4. Well, first of all, buying lipstick is DEFINITELY a hobby. And second of all, yay for inspiration! I've been a big blogging slump-y recently which sucks, but hopefully it's just a phase!

    1. It probably is. I've gone through so many phases over these past years and this might be the first time I feel like I'm in a really really good blogging space. That's so weird... like how did I make it 4 years if I'm just now feeling totally great about it???

  6. i am not good with coming up with too many ideas. I do have some stashed though. I need to get working to put them actually on my blog. Keep coming up with all your wonderful beautiful posts and I will keep on reading them.

  7. I still consider myself as a new blogger, because I started it in January, so I haven't been in a blogging slump really.
However, soetimes I do find myself in a reviewing slump, but for those days when I don't have posts I can always post one of my old reviews bc I reviewed books for 2 years before I started blogging.
I only recently finally learned how to schedule my blog posts, so there won't be any gaps on my blog that I had before, when I couldn't blog because I was on the trip and away from home.
